I have to concur here. The title of Bastard should be bestowed upon the father of the child. And the title of Whore on the mother. The poor kid is the only innocent party.

but, but........ John Edwards is a good Democrat. He’s concerned about education, health care, and Two Americas. He even went on a poverty tour of Appalachia.
But the over riding fact is that he is a good Democrat. Since he’s a good Democrat, this won’t be of concern to the MSM. Bad Republicans in such a situation are to be crucified. Good Democrats, on the other hand, rail against the politics of personal destruction, and want to focus on the real issues.
If story is true, Edwards can forget about being Veep, and may not be nominated for Attorney General or other high jobs in the Obama administration, if we have an Obama administration.

Sorry, but the child is a bastard if they are not married. It’s not a slap at the child, but at the two “adults” that chose to have sex/child out of wedlock.

But - the word is used on the child - not the parents.
Look where and how the word is used. It is never directed at the parents - only as a derogative slung to insult someone, or penned on the backs for a small child.
