I thought there was one being organized for Monday, Sept. 8th? Million Patriot March.
But I am off on September 1. I do not get a lot of leeway right now with vacation days, but EVERYONE is off on Labor Day!

McCotter recently gave a good speech on “How to Speak Democrat” which was on YouTube.
He criticized the President for going to the Olympics, instead of dealing with this issue, but at this point, the House Reps own this issue and this is old fashioned politicking.

Key Initiatives in the President's State of the Union Message President Bush announced a $1.2 billion hydrogen fuel initiative to reverse America's growing dependence on foreign oil by developing the technology for commercially viable hydrogen-powered fuel cells to power cars, trucks, homes and businesses with no pollution or greenhouse gases. The hydrogen fuel initiative will include $720 million in new funding over the next five years to develop the technologies and infrastructure to produce, store, and distribute hydrogen for use in fuel cell vehicles and electricity generation. Combined with the FreedomCAR (Cooperative Automotive Research) initiative, President Bush is proposing a total of $1.7 billion over the next five years to develop hydrogen-powered fuel cells, hydrogen infrastructure and advanced automotive technologies.

It’s really accelerated the past 15 or so minutes. It must have been plugged via a powerful website and/or talk show. It’s well over 19,500 now.

Ever since good ol boy Newt agreed with JFnK about Global warming during their debate and then appeared with Nancy in a commercial about same I see him as pandering finger in the air opportunist.

Can you imagine the uproar if he did recall Congress?
Yes. It would be a historic event. Even if Pelosi gaveled the session closed again, it would be on camera, and make an even bigger splash. More Americans are now aware of what's been happening in the house w/regard to the Energy Act.
If nothing else, the President could make a State of the Union speech about energy/offshore drilling. This would get everyone back in DC, and have a national audience to describe what's been happening (or not happening).
The Compassionate-Conservative-in-Chief comments cracked me up. :-)

The point is, and one we should be trying to make as conservatives, that we don't need to the government to subsidize hydrogen fuel cells, ethanol or any other type of "alternative" energy source. The free market will do that when it becomes viable and paying. We need to have companies doing R&D on alternatives, and I am sure some are, but we don't need any more big government in there messing things up.
The reason things are in such a mess now is because the government has all but taken over free enterprise in this country. I don't want subsidies, I don't want the feds or the state government or local government sticking their nose into private enterprise, get them out of business and back to what the constitution says their job is.

More Americans are now aware of what's been happening in the house w/regard to the Energy Act. Pelosi could not gavel the house closed if Bush recalled them, when the President calls an emergency session the only one who can adjourn it is, wait for it, the President. He could make them stay there until the next session of congress opens and make the dems, and rinos, miss their 5 week vacation. Wouldn't that be too bad?
