Fox News is announcing that Tony Snow has died.
Heartbreaking news.
They were very close.
Here's something you might not know, courtesy of wikipedia:
Snow was an avid musician. He played the trombone, flute, piccolo, accordion, saxophone, and guitar, and belonged to a cover band, Beats Workin', which featured fellow Washington-area professionals. Beats Workin' played publicly with a number of rock bands, including Snow's friends Skunk Baxter (The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan) and Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull. He was featured on an episode of VH1 Classic's Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp.
MEG, my dear, hope you’re okay. You’re right, we shall thank God for blessing us with Tony amongst us. I need to go for a walk....
I know what you mean, saveliberty....I am tearing up more this afternoon, than I did this morning.
I have always held out hope that Tony would have a radio show again, maybe after the election.
It sounds like even he thought he was doing better even recently, from what Julie and Griff were saying a few minutes ago...
I won’t dirty my mind with a visit to DU on such a day.
There will be nothing new there to expose their meanness.
I will celebrate Tony’s lack of meanness...I will celebrate his humor, his faith ,grace and toughness under fire.
Small Brains Club is formed .. termination date: TBA.
Indeed, a real gentleman.
Heartbreaking news indeed. God bless Tony Snow.
Tony Snow was a class act
He was the best
prayers
Do you remember when he was trying to make the decision about buying a boat??
He would talk about it on his radio show...and then one day announced that he indeed had gotten the family a boat.
I always loved that he “discussed” things with us...LOL
I am OK..A walk is a good idea..I’m going to go clean the patio off.
Fox news deserves alot of respect for the way they are doing all this. And what a blessing for us all to see that living your life for the Lord and loving others does seem to count sometimes in this world, and Tony Snow’s faith has rubbed off in a big way (maybe even bigger than Tony knew)on his co-workers. Its a lesson for us all that maybe just obeying Christ and living our lives right , have more of an impact on this world than we think. And maybe like Tony himself said this disease is being used by God to impact so many others. I know if I was Tony, that would be my greatest joy...knowing that my suffering was somehow used by God to positively impact others. Well I think thats what has happened here. But ti just takes us all being good men/women ... honoring our spouces and families and co-workers. Walking humbly before our God. What a legacy, and all the attention and good will is just spilling over. The tough part is thinking about his wife and kids. Thats the part that gets to me. Its the part thats hard to swalow. They have to go along without him. But knowing this man, his wife probably has six time his faith and humility and will be well able to weather the storm. Still.... my prayers are with them all. God grant them peace and give the kids the understanding they need to get through it.

LOL, yes, how about the discussions about remodeling his house??
Griff said from Jill: cause of death ~ “complications of cancer.” What that says to me, as sadly so often occurs, the treatment does kill.
It would be wonderful if you typed up your list and posted it... :)
Thanks for the ping.
He will be missed.
We just buried a 45 year old with same MO as Tony three days ago. Colon cancer, surgery, chemo .. free for a bit & the relapse/metastasized to liver/bones etc. Wonderful wife & 4 kids ages 3-18
He was a musician who played for the Pope at the Vatican & was a composer & play writer, vocalist. I would like to think he is now in combo with Tony and a few others..
He & several others wrote the play passion musical Compassion & he was Jesus.. here are are few pix of him....I intend to get up a tribute thread but have not yet Last photo is of his daughter after the performance in 2005. She spoke at his funeral, with about 2000 in attendance & 12 priests celebrating the mass. He was a rock musician for the years prior to Christian conversion & was parish music director (HUGE church) for past 14 years & also still played in ensembles & at various clubs
First shot Gethsemame, w/Pilot, spear following death.. after play
Thank you for those wonderful photos the ones with hair loss when he was under going chemo are heart breaking though.
What that says to me, as sadly so often occurs, the treatment sometimes does kill.
