You surely missed one episode of the story!
Or i don’t know where is your problem!
At the moment it’s Ousbama or McCain and for a sensible conservative there is no other choice possible than McCain.

But if you are an Obama supporter you can tell it clearly!
Is that clear like that?
If you didn’t notice the huge ousbamamania fueled and created by the stances and words of the candidate in hese meetings and shows i am wondering why!

If you can’t see that McCain supporters are not fanatics but can sometimes,on some issues,or some attitudes, criticize their own candidate,i am still wondering!

If all your critics are ALWAYS against McCain and NEVER against Obama things become clearer and i am no more wondering!

It’s your right but don’t try to fool me or anybody in order to weaken the McCain support

Amen to that. Not voting McCain (sadly) is a vote for madness.

You post was wandering, disjointed, and made little sense.

If all your critics are ALWAYS against McCain and NEVER against Obama things become clearer and i am no more wondering!

You're wondering huh?

Look, bama is typical corrupt racist black. You need to be told this? This guy has lots of luggage, is a socialist, and no doubts wants America on it's knees, much like the rest of those in D.C... OK?

It’s your right but don’t try to fool me or anybody in order to weaken the McCain support

Fool you? lol...You want to support and vote for McCain? Be my guest. I honesty could care less. I just won't be joining you, or compromising my principles for the likes of McCain.

To be honest, I got hoodwinked by Bush once and felt like a complete idiot giving him my vote. No way am I supporting any of these wealthy, globalist, big gov frauds.

It just ain't going to happen for me.

Ya see I dislike everyone in D.C. and I personally don't give a damn what happens to either of these corrupt parties that are full of wealthy insiders, most of which are out for themselves. In case you haven't noticed, they've just about destroyed this country.

But feel free to do what you want. No problem.

You are right. This McCain bashing isn't cute anymore. It's gotten old and tired.

My two cents ...

Its the same old who keep bashing McCain as well, and those who support McCain are labeled Rino's or Liberals... And if you are a new poster who supports McCain, you are also a troll. The list goes on, but if you look into who it is that is saying this stuff ... you will find most of them who are doing the bashing are Freepers who have been members since 2002, 2003, 2004, etc... Not the original Freepers (96 to 01 members --- They seem to have the most knowledge/insight into events/stories/news) ... Just my observation (sterotyping observation that is) ... I have been a lurker since 1999 when I was 17 .... long before some of these "Perfect Conservative Freepers" found Free Republic and decided if you didn't think like them you were just as bad, if not worst then a Democrat.

Anyway ... this post should get some rather excited ... :-)

God Bless America and the 3 Rescued Americans

Happy 4th of July Everybody!!!

...your point is a good one, indylindy: the thread topic suggests that McCain is somehow to be credited with the release of the hostages, but having been given the opportunity to produce any such evidence, instead we are all told to “shut up” and you are called a “smart ass”.

That's my take on this thread too.

It’s OK ?
No it’s not OK too rough, not specific enough and above all you don’t reach the right and sensible cnclusion.
Lame or biased analysis?Just wondering

BUSH made some good things(foreign policy, refusing to surrender to the environmentalist dogma) even if he could have done better on some issues...
Your global non-specific criticism against GWB reminds me of the liberal mantra which is now the OUSBAMA’s mantra stupidly repeated:”BUSH is bad,BUSH is bad,BUSH is bad”
What a stupidity!
So you are maybe a conservative...Just wondering

Personally, I think the title (whomever added "Hurray McCain!") risks turning this into a Vanity and away from the position of a straight news story.

There is no evidence that the other two US senators and McCain had ANYHING TO DO WITH THIS RELEASE.

I asked the moderator to remove that from the title to adhere to our standards, and/but of course it still stands as it is. Hence, Free Republic is becoming intellectually dishonest and not objective in its news stories, to allow a headline that gives credit to a major international news event to one particular candidate, who had nothing to do with it.

Why is that still on there?

If anything, "Hurray Uribe!", or "Hurray Colombian Military!", or "Hurray Israeli commando trainers!" is appropriate. "Hurray McCain!" is just as appropriate as "Hurray Obama!"

That's my take on this thread too.

I guess "conservatives" no longer care about the truth anymore. Now that a few days have passed, the real truth has emerged and we know the title to this article is a bold faced lie.

I guess people around here have become just like the Obama supporters. They make things up and fabricate in order to prop up a bad candidate who they really have little faith in.

When you ask for the truth you get met with foulness for even asking.

Sad times for FR.

There was another thread using this news on the same day. The other thread was an honest one.

It was removed.

I figured it would start getting this way on FR.

Some people have ethical and moral foundations built on JELLO.

Watch them come over to worshipping at the feet of McCain by late October, when in October 2007 they could not STAND the guy.

Question is? Who changed? McCain? Or "Conservatives"? (some of them at least)

Well, it is certain that McCain hasn't changed LOL.

As for the conservatives? They probably never were. These people were really just die hard republicans who care about nothing but winning.

They are extra nasty this time because they see conservatives standing in the way of a win.

The real question is, what are they giving up and what direction do they want to see this country move?

Obama may be bad, but I can honestly say after 4 years of him people really will know what hope and change means.

I am kind of sad because so many nice people are being driven right out of here. Some of these people are so full of information and always post respectfully. It is repulsive to see them get treated like dirt for the likes of a backstabbing anti sovereignty person like McCain. He isn't even worth it. The only people that deserve Obama are the folks we are talking about. This thread is a shameful embarrassment.

I don't think they know what direction they want the country to move, because under Bush, the country moved left (more government power, more government control, a larger government, etc.) and I would expect no less under McCain (although Obama will win). A few began to realize that "compassionate conservative" was code for "liberal", especially when No Child Left Behind was pushed through (one of the biggest power grabs by the government of a local issue I've seen in the past 30 years).

That said, getting back on topic, those who were so quick to give McCain credit for this operation, simply because he was there, how would those people have felt if something good happened in Israel while Obama is visiting and the headline read "Israel reduces Iranian nuclear program to rubble (hurrah for Obama!)".

We would all be raising hell and paging admins, because Obama would have had nothing to do with it, much like McCain had nothing to do with this, other than Uribe wanting to give him a nice photo op to reward him for McCain's support of the Colombia Free Trade Agreement.

Excellent post. You and I are on the same page. There was another thread posted the same day without the extra addition of a lie. The add on was totally disingenuous and should have been flagged by the mods.

I will admit, I do not like McCain. If he had engineered this I would have given him some big applause.

I think he was in Columbia by plan at that time. I will say it was not McCain who started this thread, it was a cheerleader who has no scruples. I guess this person did not realize that this was not a wise thing to do.

The other side could use it to try to show that we are liars. Which the real conservatives are not.

“US President George W Bush had been informed of the raid 10 days in advance and assured that the risks were minimal.”

Bush deserves credit for somehow keeping the plan for the raid away from the U.S. media for 10 days. The “Public” actually didn’t find out about the operation until after it was over.

As far as McCain is concerned, at least he was happy that our side won. At least there’s that difference between him and the Democrats.

"Chances are that he reached across the aisle to FARC and promised them a trade deal too"

It was more likely that he offered them amnesty. (Just like our ILLEGALs, the FARCers are "god's children" too and should be dealt with compassionately, you see!)

“Now you are just damn funny. McCain IS a lefty. Sad thing is that you know it.”

Exactly! I avoid it like the plague but when I saw a sound-bite of Obama saying “this election is not about Conservative vs. Liberal”, I said out loud “you’re darn right it isn’t....it’s about liberal vs. more liberal.”

“I am not going to become a cheerleader for a liberal candidate. If that means I am no longer welcome on a conservative site, then so be it.

It is important that we do not become like the liars on the Democrat side. Credit should be given only when it is due.”

It never seems to be the guys on the ground that risked their lives that get much of the credit. I guess even questioning whether or not McCain really deserves the credit is enough to be lambasted. Doesn’t even matter if it’s true, don’t question it and disparage anybody who points out the inconsistencies. That is a tactic right out of the Democratic playbook.

The tactics are so much the same that I count on being disparaged and maligned every time I come here and I just consider the source, which is barely a notch above liberal political forums in the honest debate department.

“Would you sit down and shut up if this had happened while Hillary or Obama were there and were given credit?”

They wouldn’t. They’d be all over it. They’re partisans through and through. Their party being in power is what drives them. I can’t stand McCain. I cannot even believe he is the nominee. That said, I will vote for him because he is the less liberal of the two. Not being thrilled about the choice and therefore not jumping on the bandwagon of pretending McCain is above all scrutiny will get me disparaged over and over again on a forum like this, but I’ve long since stopped caring what political partisans of either party think.
