PRINCETON, NJ -- In the June 15-19 USA Today/Gallup poll, Barack Obama leads John McCain among registered voters in a presidential preference test, 48% to 42%. The same poll finds Obama swamping McCain in Americans' perceptions of who has the better grasp of the problems Americans face, while McCain leads Obama by a slight margin as a "strong and decisive leader."
UPDATE: Gallup Daily: Obama, McCain Still Tied at 44% No change in candidate positioning
PRINCETON, NJ -- For the third straight day, Gallup Poll Daily tracking shows Barack Obama and John McCain tied in national registered voter preferences for the fall election, each now with 44% of the vote.

People obviously put more thought into what kind of Flat screen TV they should buy than what President they should vote for.
Hello Candor7,
Obuma is a despicable POS, who fools the illogical sheeple with his mugab-snake-oil sales pitch. The fools, who fall all over themselves for Obuma, need to be placed in a Siberian Gulag.
Obuma represents the BLT movement in America and may cause a civil war, if elected. America does not need a covert racist as the POTUS, and the shoe fits Oubuma’s cloven hoof.
Far too, many fail to see the Demon’s eyes until he has already come calling.
A Michael Steele or Lynn Swann would handily get my vote over McCain any day, but they are not running.
FDR said a “chicken in every pot.” Klintoon said an intern under every desk. Obuma says, a rolief check in every mail box, more gubmint in your life, a box of KFC in your doorway and “Let’s Get Whitey.”
Obuma the “Magic Chi-town Shoe Shine bOY.”
The Bottom Line,
NSNR
Sad to say it’s true that most Americans don’t have the slightest idea of what good character entails because they are not of good character either. Just take a look at our popular entertainment and at our death wish society. Most of all people of character believe in a God who loves them. Most Americans don’t really believe in God.
Well, Obama is certainly a character!
A criminal, racist, Marxist, possibly crypto-Islamic character - you couldn’t create a character like him in a cartoon - something about being unable to suspend disbelief...
Yep. They haven’t even debated yet. THAT will be interesting TV. Obama has many bad personal character issues. I also bet most Americans are not even paying attention now.
Not to worry. He can live in Kenya.
BTW, Hillery spoke about it. I made no statement about Obama or his Bobby Kennedy risk. Hillery did. I agree with Hillery.
We still have free speech in this country, and that freedom includes commenting on what Hillery said. Read what I said carefully. I made no threat on Mr. Obama or his running dogs, which is more than Obama did for Kikuyus killed in Kenya by genocide at the hands of the Orange party and Obama's cousin Rial Odinga for whom Obama campaigned, calling Kenya's government corrupt while a sitting US Senator, in country. Too bad the Kenyan government didn't clap him in irons and deport him.Kenya shows that Obama is a proven riot monger, and as Hillery said, that may be his end.
What goes around comes around my FRiend.Obama included.
Pass the popcorn.
We have a public who has put DO NOT CARE on their forehead when it comes to any morality. What they confuse with morality is OLD. Old People drive the speed limit and go to church. We have an entire generation of people who would rather run Old People off the road and throw them under the bus.
“Consider this, by definition, nearly half of Americans have an IQ of less than 100. If you think about that fact, in these increasing complex times it explains a lot...”
And given immigration trends, that number is steadily shrinking...
I happen to agree with FB t-shirt. Nothing wrong with speaking or showing your mind. I would like to know if there is anything in YOUR ‘mind’?
Ah, finally! Some sanity in amongst this garbge.
I used to think that the average American is a good judge of character. But then I overlooked the Clinton presidency.
Sometimes when I get on FR, I get a little weary of the fatalism. You’re comparing apples to cinderblocks when you compare this election to 1996.
Robert Dole ran a non-campaign and was a party throwaway...William Clinton was a controversial incumbent president who had no opposition candidate, unlike Obama who won a squeak-by victory against a power-hungry opponent who has left behind bitter supporters who may vote for McCain or not vote for president at all.
{We now take you back to the Gloom and Doom gripe-a-thon already in progress}
Our guy’s screwed us.
Sorry, I did not make myself clear.
I was posting about the 2006 campaign, where we lost both houses. Many poo pooed the polls as some are doing once again.

How does one measure Obama’s “character” for a poll?
He has none - so are people measuring what they think he is or wish him to be or indulging in fantasy?
The man is totally devoid of character. He is an actor playing a role.
