Could there be a calculated, cross-country plot to kill young college men, including some in Minnesota? It seems a little hard to believe, but two New York detectives say, they can prove it.

Ditto. I had not heard any of this.

“emoticon murders”?
“You were right! There is NO serial killer, there is a GROUP of serial killers!”
LOL! The Serial Killers 409th out of St. Paul?
The FBI says there are no murders. Can’t say that I believe that.
One interesting paragraph in the news report:
“The detectives requested that 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS hold back some key details of the murders such as motive and the identities of the informants. They hope that information will someday be used to file criminal charges.”
In other words, if this is true, informants may have provided evidence on some members of this gang.
It’s sheer guesswork, but I would also guess that this is a homosexual ring of some kind. Drug dealers want to punish people who don’t pay up in a way that will discourage others from doing the same. So that doesn’t fly. And it’s much too elaborate for gang initiations. What it suggests to me is some sort of sadistic sex perversion.
Well if the FBI says it is impossible, then we know for sure it is.
Remember Richard Jewell and others.
College men(and women) have been mixing booze and rivers for many years, without these results. I am speaking from experience.
My question is: How exactly do they "determine where the body went in the river?"
In the case of Chris Jenkins, they conducted experiments with tennis balls and a dummy to check out water currents. This was in a report produced by Riptide and attached to the news story at the link.
You maybe right on the homosexual aspect at some level but I think ,again just guesswork, that a more binding aspect is at work. The homosexuality may be just the a factor that helps to insure silence within the group. The news report says there is organization, hierarchy and cells. That sounds like a cult or perverted religion of some sort. Almost sounds the old Process Church that that operated within the shadows of Scientology in the late 60’s and 70’s although they have long disappeared and were never conclusively connected with murder. Judging from the victims who all appear to young strong males, it seems the killers use that factor to feed a need for power and domination.
OMG. Just when I thought I knew and understood what evil is, now this. I wonder if this is a hate crime thing? I note that many of the young men were very handsome and some people [neoNazis?] assume that to be homosexual. I hope they can do something but won’t they have to call in the FBI?
They look for the smiley face. ;)
I am so glad that the families may finally have some resolution.
But if the authorities had good reason to suspect foul play all along, then they have been criminally negligent to engage in a conspiracy to dismiss it all as “drunken accidental drowning”.
I just read those letters. A great deal of conjecture/estimation is involved. To connect any particular land based graffiti with that drowning is quite a stretch.
