A political analyst says Hillary Clinton should have known better than to repeat a bogus story alleging an Ohio hospital denied an uninsured pregnant woman medical care.
During her campaigning, Senator Clinton (D-New York) has made extensive use of a story involving a woman from rural Ohio who was being paid minimum wage working at a local pizza shop. The Democratic presidential hopeful has been telling audiences: "It is so wrong, in this good, great, and rich country, that a young woman and her baby would die because she didn't have health insurance or a hundred dollars to get examined."
But the hospital the woman was treated at says she was never denied care, and Clinton has since pulled the story from her stump speech.
Clemson University political scientist Dave Woodard says an experienced campaigner like Clinton should have checked out the veracity of the story before she went public with it. But the fact that she did not, he argues, "shows a lot about her personality" and about her plans for healthcare reform, should she make it to the Oval Office.
"[I]it also shows something about the calculus she goes through before she makes a decision," the analyst adds. "And that is, if some information comes in, no matter how unreliable but it fits a stereotype she has [of insurance companies and hospitals], she'll go right to it and use it."
As recently as Friday night, Clinton told an audience she was "just aching inside" as she was listening to the Ohio hospital story.
And BOY OH BOY was the MSM and the idiots at DU working hard to apologize for her yesterday by pulling a Dan Rather.
“Well, part of the story was true even though we don’t have proof.”
Lib loved being lied to...no secret there.
Dont worry. She can always make up a new story to replace it.
“Fake but accurate.” LMAO!
Smartest woman in the world.
If she has to tell the truth, the silence will be deafening.
She, and dems in general, are so use to the MSN covering for their lies that they just can’t stop. The internet has them on the ropes and they don’t get it.
I am reading the autobiography of Ruth Brown, the great blues and R&B singer. In an early chapter, Brown quotes a saying of her mother’s about the wisdom of telling the truth: “A lie changes every time you tell it; the truth always stays the same.” This is a lesson that Hillary obviously never learned (or certainly forgot), much to her political and personal peril.
Is the staff that she hired to vet her information going to be the same staff she will depend on for information when she gets that 3am WH phone call?
A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.
The truth can be googled before the politician finishes telling his/her lie.
Clinton doesn't know what veracity is!
Her butt boy Lanny has been working overtime spinning this crock of crap.
This morning on Fox and Friends, she listed he foreign experience as giving a feminist speech in China, solving the problems in Ireland and talks in Kosovo.
Two have been trashed. The third is window dressing.
I think the fact that she believed the story shows that she is clueless about health care. If she had any knowledge about the health care situation, she would have known that the story was not true.
Mary Mapes call your office - oh wait you don’t have one.
Call OUR office then!
Watch for some kind of relacement story (lie) to show up. She really can’t get through a talk without one.
Her main problem is that there are two Dems in the race, each with their own supporters in the MSM. If Obama hadn't run and she was on her way to the nomination on a trail of rose petals like she expected this story would have quickly died.
Has she also dropped the story about how she discovered radium? That’s a good one!
