Attn McCain Apologists: Talk all you want!

But he's still a constitution trampling RINO and unless he repeals McCain-Feingold, repudiates amnesty and global warming, drops all support for embryonic stem cell research and stops talking about partnering up with the Democrats and instead swears to fight the evil bastards he won't be getting my support.

You kicked the conservatives to the curb and nominated your RINO, now all you gotta do is get him elected.

However, that shouldn't be all that tough to do. Look what he'll be running against. A corrupt, power hungry Marxist radical feminist control freak or a corrupt, America-hating racist Marxist surrender monkey (oops, can I say "surrender monkey" in this context?). Can't see America going for either of those two useful idiots.

By the way, "change" is a Marxist codeword.

As they say, America deserves better.

Carry on.

P.S.

Or, you can select a kick butt pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-America, pro-gun, pro-drilling, pro-defense, pro-small government, fiscal conservative as your running mate and signal a return to traditional conservatism as the future of the GOP and of America and you will get all the support you need. If she's a moose hunting Alaskan army mom, all the better!

How anyone could sit there listening to that I’ll never know.

It probably helps to have a big helping of "Hate America First and Always".

So, what’s your point - this is after all a Free Republic and that means that you are not the boss of me, so - why respond to me? You have your view, I have my view.

Also, I believe that the premise of the site is for discussion, not an exercise is lock stepping in your parade or Jim’s parade. He can also elect to not allow non-donating posters.

Your face (and your hair) will turn white if you have to deal with the spending and taxing policies PROMISED by the two dem candidates.

Why do you say he doesn’t care what we or anyone else thinks? I’m not arguing, just asking what made you come to this conclusion.

Also, I have the same question about his appearance. Are you saying the photographers are trying to make him look better?

Right - America deserves better!!!!!!!!

It is amazing that in America - the greatest country in the world - we can only select these 3 as leaders?

Something is amiss here. Did the democrats do this to us in some way? What a job - give us a McCain rather than a Thompson.

But, we are here now. Therefore - we either give away the GOP to the independents and flounder around for 10 years until we can mount another party, or we stay and fight.

The only way we can fight right now is AGAINST Hillary or Obama.

To give the country to them - throws away the greatest country in the world. None of us are stupid enough to do that.

So, we have no alternative - we either fight for a McCain and then work on the congress or we dishonor our soldiers and their fight for our freedom by throwing away what they gave their blood to preserve.

I will not dishonor our soldiers by giving up when handed a major loss. They never gave up.

My wishes are not the top priority now. Top priority is the salvation of this country and I will not give it to Hillary or Obama.

If conservatives bolt, McCain will have to go further left to get another voting block. That's not good for the Republican Party or for the country.

He has already done so. He has already thanked democrat crossovers and independents for giving him the nomination. I can't imagine that voting for him would make him more conservative - it will just encourage him to continue pandering to the dems because he'll know he can continue to bash conservatism and some will follow him no matter what.

There’s a more recent example of when it worked perfectly - and we got Reagan.

"I didn’t care much for George W. Bush either but I voted for him. Same goes for his father."

They've got you where they want you, voting for men you detest because you detest the other candidate more

"He forthwith adopts one of the candidates thus selected as the only available one, thus proving that he is himself available for any purposes of the demagogue." - Henry David Thorea, 'Civil Disobedience'.

This is the way I see things happening if republicans keep whining about McCain.

(1) Hussein Obama gets elected.

(2) Media blames the four bad years on George W. Bush. Obama gets re-elected.

(3) We end up with 8 years of a liberal extremist named Hussein destroying this nation.

The day that McCain is officially nominated as the GOP Presidential Candidate is the very same day that I leave the Republican Party. Or, more correctly, the Republican Party will have left me. Throughout my nearly 2 decades of conservative activism within the Republican Party in Arizona, McCain proved himself to be a constant irritant and outright enemy. I can not be a member of a party who would nominate McCain as President. I will not stay in a party that is committing suicide. That's it - I'm out.

Suppose that Giuliani were the nominee instead of McCain. The pro-Giuliani argument would be:...

If the nominee were Giuliani, the pro-Giuliani argument would be exactly the same. Of the three remaining, the Republican is the best choice, be it Giuliani or McCain.

I supported lots of other candidates before my choices were narrowed down to McCain on February 8th. The only Republicans lower on my list were Huckabee and Paul. But compared to any of the Democrats, but particularly to Mr. Obama or Mrs. Clinton, McCain is much much better.

So I want McCain to win. So I buckle down and make that happen. Whining about how little I like McCain is not going to help.

And, as you note, "putting pressure" on McCain and getting him to promise us the Moon and the stars on border security, or whatever issue, is not going to matter, because he is going to do what he is going to do, anyway.

So you recognize the situation for what it is (It Sucks), and move forward the only way you can (Go McCain!).

There are either conservative principles or there aren't. Once conservatives start backing up to every poke in the chest, mud seeps in leading inevitably to smothering. Sometimes, there are no gray areas.

Excellent points.

I just found out that he voted to affirm Ginsberg, Kennedy and Souter.

Thx for the info. Those who were pushing McCain for the SC nomination issue almost had me convinced. Until now... ;)
