By now, most McCain haters will have already skipped down to the comments section to post their expletives and tell me how its a free country and they have a 1st Amendment right, etc. to yammer on and on about how bad McCain sucks, totally missing the point of my post, again. But Im here to tell you, in this free country, that in my opinion, you should SHUT YOUR STINKIN TRAP! To all you ingrates, rageaholics, and self-absorbed punks, WE KNOW YOU HATE MCCAIN. You can give yourself a rest now and stop posting on every single thread the same exact comments. Im not going to name names, but I will if I have to. I think we all know by now who Im talking about. The folks who post the same pictures and the same comments on EVERY SINGLE THREAD. We got it. You arent voting for McCain. Fine. Time to move on. Yes, thats my opinion. You have had enough time to accept the reality that John Sidney McCain III, WAR HERO, is the Republican nominee. Some folks on FR have used this time to learn more about Johnny, realize that he isnt as bad as they thought, grow up, act like adults, and get in gear to vote for him. Some of you have decided not only to beat your collective dead horse everyday, banging out the same tiresome gripes about McCain on every thread, but youve also gotten increasingly VITRIOLIC. Im talking about the following trash:
1. Saying McCain isnt really a war hero because (insert stupid lie here.)
2. Declaring that McCain urged the U.S. government to leave other POWs back in Vietnam (for what reason would he do this exactly? Dont bother, I dont want to hear your lies anymore.)
3. Insulting other FR posters who like or support Johnny by using profanity, vulgarity, and name calling. YOU ARE DIMINISHING FR with your hostile poststhis kind of stuff belongs on low rent leftie sites like DU, or Daily Kos, not FREE REPUBLIC, the shining star of conservative websites.
4. AND FINALLY, the filthiest load in the McCain Haters verbal trebuchet: wishing, hoping or praying that John Sidney McCain III would come to some misfortune which would prevent him from living to be President. THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST DISGUSTING. How can you wish that a decent, G-d fearing man who suffered and sacrificed out of love for this country, who, BY THE GRACE OF G-D, survived five years of torture and imprisonment only to return to service in the militaryhow could you wish him anything but a long, long life? Shameful. And dont DARE try to suggest that you are any better in moral character or principle than the angry liberal scum who wish ill upon President Bush or our troops. If your definition of conservative is to rage daily and most repulsively against our next President, then please call me a right wing Reaganite traditionalist because I want no part of your scene. I realize that some talk show hosts like Laura Ingraham, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity dont like Johnny, but I dont recall hearing them praying for his untimely demise. No, that is the talk of the dregs of society, not adults who have their act together.
And just a heads up to all the McCain haters: I am ignoring your tirades henceforth. I cant stop you from posting your garbage, but I certainly dont have acknowledge it. Basically, the point of posts from people who like Johnny these days is to share daily news: tracking polls, statements he has made, who he is touring with, speeches he has given, leaders he has met with, etc. What is YOUR point? To seek out people to commiserate with? To insult fellow conservatives whove decided having a responsible leader in a time of war trumps giving the GOP a spanking? To try and rally others to joins the haters camp?
Are you going to do this for the next several years? If so, the best advice I can give to the non-haters is to wade through the rage and seek out the decent and the productive on FR. Do not waste your time debating the haters, because they seem to thrive on self-righteousness and rage. Try as they might, they have given absolutely no GOOD reason to allow a dem to win the presidency. Their continued daily rantings about why they hate McCain, on EVERY thread about him, only serve to define their insanity.
I seek out those of like mind. G-d Bless John Sidney McCain III.
P.S. McCain haters, please review the link in order to familiarize yourselves with the sound of Skank's voice so you can hear his directive in your head when you are about to post something vile.

Just look at this America hater, who could hate America more than him?
There is no cynic like a gullible cynic.
If you're the troll I think you might be, you calling me gullible because I haven't bought your schtick is really amusing.
But the capper is that you think I'm a cynic. The problem is that I've never rejected Huckabee because I was suspicious of some hidden motive, I rejected him because of what he put on display in public. I rejected him on his record and rhetoric.
A cynic is a guy who thinks someone only wants to give them a hug so they can steal his wallet.
I'm a guy who saw Huckabee steal somebody's wallet during a hug, so I don't want to hug him.
You're a guy who knows he had his wallet right before the hug, and knows it was missing right after the hug, and is not only not suspicious, but can't understand why other people won't give Huck their bank account numbers and SSN.
I am so hurt.
The only thing I can do now is find a stray dog to kick.
sniff!
Yahwey is the way the transliterated JHVH is pronounced.
Obama's pastor, perhaps, but nevertheless, John McCain hates what we stand for.
Nice I like that: America haters = Win Win Win
Oh my...dying laughing...send help!
Good gravy you are beyond full of yourself if you think you're some wonderful patriot and those who disagree "hate America." Tell that to my butt, which I froze off on the Northern Tier for Uncle Sam and on numerous protest lines since.
This is everything you ever wanted, isn’t it!
You and your kind make me sick.
Yes, that's why I was supporting Hunter at this time last year, because I wanted McCain. Grow up, please.
You and your kind make me sick.
Yeah, the kind who doesn't think of Barack Obama in the White House is an outcome conservatives should be happy about. Yes, I'm a real extremist America-hater.
If keeping Barack Obama out of the White House makes you sick, I hope you're sick as a dog for the rest of your life or his, whichever ends first.

First of all show me what leadership qualities John McCain has shown. What I remember is the Keating Five, the Gang of Fourteen, and that he said it might be necessary to stay in Iraq “a hundred years.” You just assume that because he has military experience he would a make a qualified leader. For all we know he could be just as pathetic as we assume Hilary and Obama would be.
Second, I never argued that McCain would not win the military vote. He almost certainly will, but I would bet that it will not be by the same large margin that Bush won by. We will just have to wait and see.
Third, It is condescending to suggest that with any other commander in chief our soldiers are going to die. From what I can see they know how to take care of business even when the commander in chief is an ass. You have to remember that even Abraham Lincoln made stupid mistakes as Commander in Chief. Don’t expect any president to know what the heck to do on a battlefield. Obama or Hilary will be scared to make a move without the advice of military command because they are well aware that they will be criticized. McCain’s temper and arrogance are legendary, and he is more likely to go off half-cocked and do something tactically and strategically stupid than either democrat.
Fourth, are you aware that some words and phrases have more than one meaning?
Thank you, ma’am!
Well, the good news is that Hillary or Obama will close the border and keep Guantanamo open.
Right?
I'll happily deal with your specific examples in a moment, but let's start with this: One does not reach the rank of Lt. Cdr in the U.S. Navy without acquiring more leadership experience than Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama have shown. That's the rank he held when he flew A-4s; he reached Captain before he left, and the same applies, only more so.
In captivity it would be inaccurate to call him a leader per se because he was not one of the senior officers, but he showed great tenacity. He endured years of torture, some of it punishment for refusing to meet with anti-war delegations. Can Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton claim anything like that? Obviously they weren't in a position to go to the Hilton, but neither served their country or have made any kind of sacrifice for America that measures up to even one day of Hilton captivity. Heck, Obama probably hasn't even been through difficulties that would measure up to being deployed on a carrier for six months, much less being a prisoner. I would also note that no less an American than MOH recipient (and McCain cellmate) Bud Day has endorsed McCain, in part on the basis of character he saw exhibited in the Hilton.
McCain commanded a training squadron and turned it around so that it was good enough to get an MUC. Where have Hillary and Obama done anything like that with an organization?
While he was Navy Senate liaison, he was instrumental in getting funding for a carrier that the POTUS and SecNavy both opposed. How many Navy commanders beat the President at something?
And though I don't agree with all of his Senate accomplishments, his ability to get things done in the Senate shows that he is a leader there. What has Hillary or Obama gotten done in the Senate? What did Obama get done in the Illinois legislature? Moreover, where are their foreign policy credentials? Hillary didn't even have a security clearance while she was "co-president!"
Keating Five
Oh...does this sound to you like a major scandal that should prevent someone from becom ing President if they're otherwise qualified? How does it compare with Hillary's long list of real scandals and Obama's total lack of judgment in spooning Jeremiah Wright for the last twenty years and refusing to take any responsibility for it?
From wikipedia:
McCain's upward political trajectory was jolted when he became enmeshed in the Keating Five scandal of the 1980s. In the context of the Savings and Loan crisis of that decade, Charles Keating Jr.'s Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, a subsidiary of his American Continental Corporation, was insolvent as a result of some bad loans. In order to regain solvency, Lincoln sold investment in a real estate venture as an FDIC-insured savings account. This caught the eye of federal regulators who were looking to shut it down. It is alleged that Keating contacted five senators to whom he made contributions. McCain was one of those senators and he met at least twice in 1987 with Ed Gray, chairman of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board, to discuss the government's investigation of Lincoln.Between 1982 and 1987, McCain received approximately $112,000 in political contributions from Keating and his associates.[25] In addition, McCain's wife and her father had invested $359,100 in a Keating shopping center in April 1986, a year before McCain met with the regulators. McCain, his family and baby-sitter made at least nine trips at Keating's expense, sometimes aboard the American Continental jet. After learning Keating was in trouble over Lincoln, McCain paid for the air trips totaling $13,433.[26]
Eventually the real estate venture failed, leaving many broke. Federal regulators ultimately filed a $1.1 billion civil racketeering and fraud suit against Keating, accusing him of siphoning Lincoln's deposits to his family and into political campaigns. The five senators came under investigation for attempting to influence the regulators. In the end, none of the senators was charged with any crime, although McCain was rebuked by the Senate Ethics Committee for exercising "poor judgment" in intervening with the federal regulators on Keating's behalf.[27] Robert S. Bennett, who was the special investigator during the scandal, said that he fully investigated McCain back then and suggested to the Senate Ethics Committee to not pursue charges against McCain. Bennett, a Democrat who would represent McCain in the future for another matter, wrote years later in his autobiography that it was his opinion that McCain was not dismissed from the case because without him, the investigation would have solely been against Democrats.[28]
On his Keating Five experience, McCain said: "The appearance of it was wrong. It's a wrong appearance when a group of senators appear in a meeting with a group of regulators, because it conveys the impression of undue and improper influence. And it was the wrong thing to do."[27]
Even if he was guilty as hell, this sort of thing is on Hillary's schedule before breakfast.
Gang of Fourteen
Though I was very angry about it at the time, I have to admit the Gang of 14 manuever got judges confirmed. Whether more would have been confirmed without it is speculation. What has Hillary or Obama done in the Senate?
that he said it might be necessary to stay in Iraq a hundred years.
Why are you parroting an Obama talking point that even The New York times, the AP and The Atlantic know is a load of crap? Suddenly I think I know why you're here...a recent arrival and you certainly have your talking points down.
For all we know he could be just as pathetic as we assume Hilary and Obama would be.
Assume? We're assuming that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama would be bad presidents? You're pegging the troll-o-meter.
Second, I never argued that McCain would not win the military vote.
I never said you did. I said prove that you've talked to "many" military members who share your opinion that a McCain presidency will be no better than a HillObama presidency.
Third, It is condescending to suggest that with any other commander in chief our soldiers are going to die.
Horse hockey. Its horse hockey that it's condescending, and it's horse hockey that a bad C-in-C can't screw up and get troops killed. Does Mogadishu ring a bell? Does the USS Cole? Are you actually going to tell me there was no difference between the way the troops fought and the rate they died under Johnson and Nixon?
Obama or Hilary will be scared to make a move without the advice of military command because they are well aware that they will be criticized.
Yeah, just like Bill Clinton and Lyndon Johnson. Is it your contention that there weren't any competent generals around to advise them?
McCains temper and arrogance are legendary, and he is more likely to go off half-cocked and do something tactically and strategically stupid than either democrat.
So...let me get this straight: I'm "assuming" that Hillary or Obama would be a bad president, but you aren't assuming when you decide they'd be better than McCain. What experience or accomplishments do they have that shows they would do well in a military crisis?
Fourth, are you aware that some words and phrases have more than one meaning?
Yes. I assume this relates to your "grand scheme" pronouncement. If so, I have this to say: When we are at war with a determined enemy and the lives of Americans are on the line, saying who gets elected doesn't matter is irresponsible no matter what sense you mean it in. Suck it up and take responsibility for your words.
Tell me in detail about your personal experiences with Mike Huckabee.
Or, have you been reading items by “hucksters” like “Club for Growth,” Cato Institue, Romney supporters, and Paulistas and still not feeling gullible?
Hey, I appreciate that correction, sounds much better, thanks.
Dude, I never made that claim. It's called an analogy. Look it up.
Or, have you been reading items by hucksters like Club for Growth, Cato Institue, Romney supporters, and Paulistas and still not feeling gullible?
What part of "his record and rhetoric" did you not understand? I didn't say, "I know about Mike Huckabee because I read everything written by Cato" (and it is really, really funny that you're acting like Cato is out to get conservatives!) I said I rejected him based on him. The "I don't want to lose my soul, roll tape" press conference in Iowa would have been enough by itself. It showed that his character was something completely different from what he was selling.
“There is NO issue that is close to being as important.”
Why would you say that? I would think closing our borders, keeping our Bill of Rights intact and restoring our Constitution to its rightful place would ALL top a “war” that’s not even been fought to win. After all, it’s through those OPEN borders that terrorists can come through and if we trash our own Constitution in fighting them, THEY WIN anyway. So sorry, you are as wrong as two left shoes. Besides, look at the handicap McLame wants to put on opur troops: No interrogation methods more harsh than GLARING at the detainees or thinking bad thoughts about them; closing Gitmo to them and giving UNLAWFUL COMBATANTS rights granted ONLY TO legitimate troops under the Geneva Conventions...
Super !! :^D
