What do you think? Suggestions, comments, complaints?
It’s at the bottom of every thead
It has the features you just mentioned
Add this “r” to thead in my last post...
yes, I have only seen Jim Robinson post and read about him on this site, I guessed John was his brother?
Can you allow [img] codes? It’s just easier to copy them that way from Photobucket rather than having to add<img src= etc
And embed codes for YouTube?
Still can’t drive down sixth street eh.........:o)
That was sort-of a joke, but not completely. I wouldn’t know what to do if I didn’t have the prayer warriors and my canteen friends. There are others, but those are the ones that will make me crazy :)
I guess the thing I always loved about FR was the clean design and the functionality of the software.
The font in the sidebar is smaller and has some new color — sort of a navy/charcoal. Then the followed link color is black, so there is very little contrast. There is also less space between each headline, making them hard to scan. It just looks like a column of text rather than a list of headlines. I have to say it is very annoying.
I also vote to have the search text box moved back to its top right position, because no one can miss it there. I don’t even see the word “search” on the top of the page near the text box.
I don’t mind the folder-type tabs at the top (although I will never use them because I don’t need them), but I’m not sure what was wrong with the other sidebar font size/color/followed link color setup you had before.
I am not resistant to change. I just don’t see a reason for it in this case.
But since you have now read through 700+ replies, I guess it isn’t going to change.
I agree with your comments on the sidebar - that is just what I was about to post.
It is almost impossible for me to see the color difference between the stories I’ve already clicked on and the new stories, and it has a crowded look to it.
Not that it matters what I say, but, I think the “Browse by Forums” section is cool.
Hey I just realized there is no “Post” link at the top of the page. (I am on latest) How are people posting new threads? I must be missing something, but all I see is Home Forum Pings Mail More. (And it’s not at “More”, either.)
Now I see that the “Post Article” link is still on all the thread pages (top and bottom) but I don’t see it on the “Latest” page. I guess you have to go into an existing thread to post a new one.
Niggly stuff aside, this is still the easiest and best laid out forum for following and exposing the news we should be getting from the Lamestream Media, so here's a great, big
I used to be able to use keyword search for articles of a certain subject and then you could also use it to search what certain posters were saying in a thread.
I don't know about you, but I do not like this format.
Actually John is Jim's son.
In the search area in the right hand side of a page that has it, such as news/activism, type in
keyword:YourKeyword
I did it with keyword:berkeley and got this
From there, you can type in any keyword and find what you want hopefully
On the problem of finding someone's posts on a thread, you can, when on the thread, click on “edit” on the top left
Then click on find (on this page) and then type in the user name of the poster whose posts you want to see.
It will go from one to another until they all are shown to you
I hope this helps, if it doesn't well
Here's a BUMP to this thread!
LOL
I don’t ‘cotton’ to change much at all. I can’t even pull up my own comments by putting my own name in the search box and clicking ‘find user’!
AND, what I really hate is if you are doing a ‘way back’ search’ on someone’s comments and try to put it on ‘full’ to see their graphics it brings you back to their present comments page!
REALLY disappointing to me.
Thanks.
Hope so for you. I don’t like some things.
