There seems to be an inherent inconsistency in how radio host Rush Limbaugh is analyzing Hillary Clinton's chances for election.
On his radio show, he is urging his listeners to vote for her in tomorrow's primaries.
Limbaugh claims to be doing this because he thinks that the longer Clinton stays in the race, the more she'll damage Obama and the party, thereby increasing the chances of a Republican victory in November.
This, however, is contradicted by his statements about how resilient a candidate Mrs. Clinton would be. For example, today he stated that "these Clintons are like cockroaches. They'll be the last thing left after a nuclear blast."
If, as Limbaugh states, Hillary Clinton is such a tough candidate, it makes no sense for him to want her in the race if he truly hopes for a GOP win in November.
All of this leads to the conclusiong that, in fact, Limbaugh wants Hillary to be our next President.
As recently as last month, Limbaugh stated that, if John McCain were the Republican nominee, he would rather see the Democrats win the White House.
If that's the case, perhaps Limbaugh sees Hillary Clinton as a better (and more profitable target) for his program's commentary in the coming years. He already has years of experience mocking the Clintons. Furthermore, attacks on Hillary don't come with the risk of being called a racist, even if wrongly.
Finally, there may be simple profit motive. In the past it has been suggested that a President of one party, increases the circulation of magazines on the other side. Limbaugh, of course, publishes a monthly "Limbaugh Letter" magazine. And, of course, he is widely considered to have enjoyed his greatest popularity during the previous Clinton administration.
If this is true, perhaps Republicans in Texas and Ohio might want to reconsider taking voting advice from Rush in tomorrow's primaries.
Bill and Hillary, a not very loving couple, should go back to Arkansas. Oh, I forgot....
NY is stuck with them...
“Personally, I cant in conscience vote for hillary or obama. To be honest, I dont know WHAT is best for our country in this miserable situation.
Who knows whats best to do at this point? Our options are severely limited.”
Our option to fight like hell certainly isn’t limited - except by our own willingness to fight back. Us keyboard commandos need to get off our butts and start helping the door knockers and organizers if we hope to have a country. I know that’s what I’ll be doing over the next four years.
>> leave a flap of skin so the head would not roll off into the crowd
Yeah, if the head rolled off into the crowd it might disappear. Now THAT would be “losing face”.
Badda bing, badda boom.
If Her Heinous prevails in the primaries, I think Rush understands that Obama’s supporters will be so angry that they’d boycott the election, and it would make it easier for McCain to win, even though all Republicans wouldn’t vote for him. There are some Independents and Democrats who can’t stand Her Heinous, and might vote for McCain, instead.
Perot, and the voters who swooned over him like they're doing over Obama, got x42 elected.
Perot obviously had a major effect on getting Clinton elected. However, Rush was also a factor, given his open support for Buchanan during the primaries.
How many times does he have to talk about his 14 foot TV and the other toys he has accumulated? Today he talked about his round of golf at Augusta National with his buddies. Come on.
>> So, do not listen to Rush Limbaugh on this. Not another Clinton, ever!
AMEN
“...Obama or Hillary. The thought of either one in the White House is just too hard to take! I much rather have four years of McCain even though I will hold my nose to vote for him.”
Why would you prefer the stealth liberal McCain, who the RINOs in congress will go along with, rather than an overtly liberal Prez that even our limp noodle RINOs will OPPOSE with vigor?
Believe me, I understand your mindset. I’ve been reasoning my way out of the same mental funk for weeks now.
>> White guilt is a powerful tool.
White guilt among moderates and conservatives is a MYTH — only liberals are so afflicted.

“By keeping Hillary in, we let her bloody him.”
You got that right, and so does Rush. They don’t call him The Great Maharushie for nothing .. LOL
Seriously, even smart Democrats (I know, it’s an oxymoron) are seeing the same dynamic about to develop, and are starting to make statements that Hillary needs to gracefully exit the race after Tuesday, if she doesn’t gain serious ground. Bill Richardson said as much yesterday (though I wouldn’t call him the smartest Democrat).
Anyway, figuring out which candidate is most or least electable in March, for a November election which hasnt seen serious head-to-head action between the nominees, is a fools errand. Many people on this forum as well as Rush huff and puff and postulate such nonsense but they simply dont know. Even the pollsters and pundits cant agree.
No, the best use of my vote tomorrow is to help whack the head off of the most evil crime family ever to play on the American political stage. And that, my FRiend, is how I intend to use my vote.
Great reply, to one of my queries: Do you not think shed be an easier candidate to beat in the generals?
I'm not exactly sure how to respond to your challenge above, namely, because I didn't have in mind some of your thinking, namely, in paragraph # 1 and # 2 above; although, I agree with most of what you say.
What I was suggesting is that, I think, Rush does not, by any stretch of his imagination, think that the Clintons' are anything other than evil. I'm also fairly confident that Rush is neither a fan of Hillary, Obama, or McCain.
There isn't a good crop of candidates running for the USA Presidency on either side of the aisle. All three potential winners are leftist; some more than others. However, if it's McCain against the "evil" one, then I think she would be easier to defeat in the general. But like you say: nobody knows, and not even the pollsters and pundits can agree.
Good luck. May God give the USA voters the wisdom to put into power the candidate that is right for this time of history of mankind.
Barry will be easier to beat, take her out.
This is utter twaddle - absolute balderdash!
In a word, bullshit of the first order.

You’re right, IMO. I disagree with Rush’s strategy, but his conservative bona fides are beyond reproach, and I believe his motives are pure.

At the close of the Constitutional Convention, a woman asked Benjamin Franklin what type of government the Constitution was bringing into existence. Franklin replied, A republic, if you can keep it.
Thank you so much, FRiend, for your heartfelt best wishes. We will need them.
“From what I’ve read from the media, Rush is nothing more than an irrelevant entertainer.....why is anybody listening to him?”
Ain’t been on this side of the tracks long, have ya Junior?
And just what “media” is that you’re reading anyway? NY Times?
We need Hillary to win these primaries - although very, very narrowly.
Your welcome.
