I guess with this issue feelings run deep.

It's rare there isn't already a "crowned" candidate, like a sitting VP or some party favorite. You are living history and will not forget this. Years ago this process took place in the "smoky back rooms" and believe me, the people came out of that stuff just as enraged. Politics is war, dirty war.

This one though, was really manipulated by the elites from the beginning to permit the select fewest voter participants and that is not good. And since so many of us still have not voted, anger is expected.

John McCain has become a political black hole. Even the light of conservatism cannot escape it. Good-bye Fred Thompson. You have flickered out.

When Hunter supporters suggested this we were flamed mercilessly. I’m glad the first blood was drawn by a Fred Head.

It’s like nursery school just let out around here

More like a Friday night Frat Party. Nobody seems to understand the different roles elected officials, professional politicians, political commentators, and activists play in the political system.

It escapes me why any soul could possibly be surprised by this.
***Because the Fredheads had FDS, Fred Derangement Syndrome, where anything bad you could point out about him was simply not true, no way, na-na-na-na-na and you’d get shouted down. They drank the kool aid.

I never quite figured out Romney. He needed more time to get his conservative ?bona fides? if that was possible, but he didn?t have enough time to do it. And it would take a few years for that to happen, I think.

The elites determined it was John McCain's turn. And they get what they want generally. Romney did well to suspend and will be remembered by them for that. Possibly he will try again.

The interesting one is the Dems. Hillary is the one determined. However, the media is turning on the Clintons and Obama is massing huge support, money and stardom. Waiting to see who wins.

I’m backing the guy that Duncan Hunter endorsed - Mike Huckabee.

We’re down to two candidates in the GOP presidential race, and Huckabee is TRULY pro-life, and is VERY, VERY strong on protecting our 2nd amendment rights.

“And since so many of us still have not voted, anger is expected.”

I understand anger and frustration too, but does that mean that we have to discard our civility? Oh well...

Anyway, I’d like to see some primary system that was a bit fairer. By fairer, I mean that more than a few states get to decide who the nominee is. Perhaps that won’t work, but something to allow all the states to participate (and to matter).

Not suprising. Well this is the end of the GOP as well know it. Next week, I am going to go back to being an independent.

Fred is obviously not the man I thought he was. I’m sorry that I ever even thought of voting for him. I’m glad he left the race.

Me too! Has Hunter endorsed any one, or is there still a conservative in elected office?

my basis was, I was NOT a child then. I was an adult and actively involved in politics - I remember how is went down.

And it's still the same - the candidate does not decide, arbitrarily, who his running mate is going to be.

And that is a good thing - when you think about it.

The candidate is not the whole party -

You had to know he would. He was only in it to keep Romney from taking the lead.

No, honestly, I did not. I thought Thompson would sit this one out.

Did you truly think that Fred would sit back and allow the Democrats to take the White House back without trying to rally Republicans against that? I believe he loves this country way too much for that. Doesn't sound like he is that hot to trot for McCain, it's just that McCain will be the nominee, and Fred is being realistic about it.

I dunno about that elites picked McCain thing. Regular people cast the votes. He got more votes. I think it’s as simple as that.

The dem race will be interesting, though. I agree with you on that one. Who wins? Superdelegates decide? Do the claws come out again? LOL.
