Okay, so this evening was like a glass of cold water hitting me in the face.
The GOP is on its way to nominating McCain as our Presidential candidate. If this happens, I WILL NOT vote Republican this Presidential election.
Here is my question, could Huckabee or Romney drop out, and endorse the other candidate, and request their delegates to join them in that support?
Could a VP promise from either of these men, with egos set aside, save the conservative vote?
I am willing to vote for EITHER of those two men for POTUS, and am willing to bet if the two were paired up, most conservatives would be willing to as well, especially considering the alternative.
I find it so laughable that McCain is calling himself the "true conservative" when nothing is further from the truth...
So, once again, is it possible for either of the candidates to do this?
From what I am reading on the Internet, I believe only a very few of Romney/Huckabee's delegates are hard, and could vote either direction once they convention comes around.

Just an idea I wanted to see what you guys thought of this, and if it would be possible or not.

You mean you would swap one liberal for another and call it a done deal?
With either McCain or Huckabee at the top of the ticket, the top of my ballot will be, at best, blank.
I think a Romney/Huckabee ticket might right now the only way for the Republicans to get out of this current divided mess.
No ticket with McCain on it will be able to unify the party.
But a Romney/Huckabee ticket would satisfy both the economic and social conservatives, solidify both the south and the mountain states for the Republican ticket, and potentially make a play for states such as Michigan to build a electoral majority.
There was no Republican entrant who was a 'Ronald Reagan Conservative', there was no candidate who was conservative - period! Instead, we have a slate of phonys, slicksters, RINOS, and one agenda-idealists. That person, the Ronald Reagan Conservative, doesn't exist at the moment. It will take 8 years of unbelievable taking of freedom, wealth and oppression to bring this person to the forefront. Let's just hope there are enough left to do something about it.
It’s hard to see the angel in this whirlwind. :(
From: Why You're Going To Vote For John McCain In November And Like It!

McCain can’t win against Obama because he’s a traitor to his party, splitting it down the middle and he probably knows this. He wants to get back at conservatives for rejecting him in 2000.
Rush spoke of a three-legged stool: national defense, economic conservatism, and social conservatism. Romney tried for this, but could not pull it off. Because of his past (actual/perceived), he was not accepted by many as socially conservative. Huckabee has tons of credibility on the social conservatism. I don’t think he cares about national defense. I think he is negative on economic conservatism. He could provide Romney’s missing leg, but won’t. I don’t think Romney can make up for Huckabee’s shortcomings if Romney were in the number 2 position.
Still, it is not a bad idea. The two camps would be smart if they were to meet and discuss the possibilities.
Exactly. All three of these men are libs.
A message to Conservatism: Quit grasping for straws and accept the current state of reality. Then start looking forward to what’s next. Get started now, we need to figure out what to do and how to do it.
The small government dream of the Founders’ America must not die.
Beware of the demonrats’ troll NOW who will want to split more and more the sensible americans(ie NOT LIBERALS),the different kind of conservatives.
One must just watch reasonably to the situation of USA and of the world keeping in mind the final goal and trying to develop a strategy.
A demon’s presidency would be worst than any actual republicans an all the main issues
There are many blind and ignorant sheeple.
The government within the government does not want a conservative in the White House. The election is fixed. The RNC agreed to it.
The march towards the NWO is all that matters at this time.
The fence is not being built and the borders are still physically unsecured 7 years later.
The gov within the gov is depending on the sheeple to keep the status qua viable.
Self-accountability and integrity are no longer expected in our society.
Flip-flopping on camera to tell prospective voters what they want to hear is the norm.
The illegal invasion will continue and shamnesty within 18 months.
Our government will not balance its books as to forcibly put the US at the whims of foreign countries holding our debt.
Destruction of the US and our former ideals and way of life is the goal.
I hate to break it to my fellow freepers, but a comprimise candidate is the only chance Republicans have at winning the WH in ‘08. For 6 years Republicans controlled both the White House and Congress and literally screwed the pooch. They were worse than the Democrats in regards to fiscal sanity and growth of government. They did nothing regarding illegal immigration. The Bush administration made some unforgivable errors in its handling of Iraq. Etc etc.
To his credit, McCain has serious cred as a Commander in Chief. Also, let’s hope that he appoints justices whose jurisprudence matches his favorite justice on SCOTUS: Scalia.
Think about it this way: In the areas where he offends conservatives most, he’s no worse than the 2 Dem front-runners. Yet, he’s better than the Dems in other areas, namely defense and opposing socialized medicine.
I grasp that he’s far from a Conservative’s wet dream candidate. Nevertheless, think about the alternative (Hillary or Obama) and then consider embracing pragmatism and voting for McCain.
A Huck/Mitt ticket is better than anything w McCain on it
McCain is a 50 state loser embarrassment waiting to happen.
McCain has zero legs on the Rush Three Legged Stool...his national security leg is filled with Gitmo-closing, waterboarding-free, open borders surrender.
Look, people. We are at war! I am not a McCain supporter, either. But my candidates left the race. There is a war to fight. And either of the two alternatives in the other party is so horrible to contemplate that McCain is the only choice left. Those who advocate not voting or voting for the other party — including Ann, Rush, et. al. — need to stop foaming at the mouth and ask themselves this simple question: can we afford to give Osama and Co. four free years in this war of civilizations?
I think if there are any “Ronald Reagan” type conservatives out there, they probably asked themselves if it would be worth all the aggravation and heartburn for themselves and their family. I think it gets worse and worse as time goes by.
I know I sure in heck wouldn’t want to go through the crap Bush had to in the past 7 years.
Would not Mc Cain be tough on foreign policy?
Stay cool fellows!
And one can wonder about the way to get the hispanic votes when OUSSbAMA has overwhelmingly the black vote
