An NFL championship is all about surviving. It’s a war of attrition. We now have a #5 seed champion to go along with the #6 seed Steelers.

Now Eli has to learn how to win in Giants Stadium.

Rush’s friend Hutch said Thursday that if Tom Brady was sacked three times the Giants would win.

And that’s the baffling thing about the team and really why the Coughlin had to convince the owners not to fire him. Over the past 5 games you have seen this team play to its full potential. They battled the Pats hard at home the last week of the season then went on the road and won in Dallas and Frozen Lambeau then outfought the Pats in the SB. Granted, the Pats didn’t play their best game last night but that Giants team last night was hungry, confident and aggressive.

I’m not sure why they didn’t just run the clock out and let the Giants have the field.

Formalities. The game isn't over until the clock runs out. A kneel-down doesn't slow down the celebration that much.

On to Daytona! Why?? See post #2,377, for my take of NASCAR. I still like auto racing (non NASCAR stock car racing!).

Opps, 2733 I meant!

Very good post. Unfortunately those who decry the Pat’s won’t give them any credit whatsoever because they are fixated on the non-issue of their “cheating” (when in reality they were only caught with videotape of the first half of the first game of the season - video tape that the Pat’s coaches never got to watch).

Pats fans...ya gotta luv 'em. This is like saying "We broke into the house, but we didn't end up taking anything, so there's no crime".

18 - 1 is one hell of a record. Bwahaaaaahaaaahaaahaa!

And don’t forget, the Jints already had their play-off spot clinched. The outcome of that game meant nothing to their standing. They could very easily have just thrown their uniforms on the field and made sure no one would get hurt for the play-offs.

I would love to see the Patriots version of the commercial that was ran after the SB. The one where the ‘72 Dolphins lived in Perfect and a Giants delivery truck pulled in to deliver a football with a note signed by Eli Manning saying “Enjoy it for another year”. I wonder how the commercial would have gone had the Pats won. It’ll probably end up on YouTube one day.

GO GIANTS!!!

He called this morning saying jokingly that half the state was on suicide watch.

Better have the state not get into Patrick Kennedy's car. My son teaches at Brown University and is a big fan of the Pats.

Hmmm... is he the only Republican at Brown?

I hate Robert Kraft — the owner of the Pats. He is a louse! He bought a trailer park next to Foxboro Stadium and he had the state force the citizens to move! Before that I liked the Pats, but since Robert Kraft screwed Connecticut, I don’t like them ANYMORE!

If the Giants had gone 6-10 this year nobody would have said they underperformed. Most pre-season predictions I read were saying that an 8-8 season would be a successful one, and that they might barely slip into the playoffs at 9-7.

Ass? And you sound like you’re spouting off typical liberal cop-out nonsense. Never mind your name-calling of ME when I haven’t even attacked YOU or anyone else.

“What does it have to do with sports?”

Didn’t matter for Clinton, I guess. “What does his personal life have to do with his policy?”

“He’s not a role model, he doesn’t hold himself out as one.”

Typical lately of people apologizing for athletes and actors. I don’t care he “doesn’t say he is 1” - HE IS. LIKE IT OR NOT. YOU’RE IN THE PUBLIC EYE, YOU *ARE* A “ROLE MODEL”. If his “business” is found out, so be it. There it is.

Give me a break.

He’s created some kid whose life is going to be less than ideal, that’s for sure. Brady should have to pay for that. Instead, these days we get covers of People mag shouting joyously, “Tom’s having a baby! Ooooh, Aaaaah! Ain’t that cool?” and “Tom gets to date another model while his other bears his child - way cool!!!!”

It’s pathetic.

That would be interesting! I am still scrolling through pictures of the game, and I'm amazed at some of the still shots. Gotta love how much Brady was sitting on the ground last night instead of passing the football. :)

That's a good point.

Oddly enough (in retrospect), the Patriots probably played that "meaningless" Week 17 game in the worst way possible. If they had obliterated the Giants, they probably would have demoralized them to the point where the Giants may not have had the confidence they needed to win four straight post-season games. If they had lost the game, the Giants may have just decided that being the only team to beat the Patriots was enough for a successful season.

In beating the Giants by such a close score, the Patriots probably gave them the right combination of confidence and motivation to carry them through the next four games.

Kiss it pal. You like you you like and I will like who I like. He is an ass hole in my book. If you don’t like that, kiss it. I could give a damn less what you think.
