It’s not Pee Wee football, it’s the NFL.

Maybe the confusion comes from Belichick not being able to take the loss like a man.

Peyton couldn’t beat the Gators, Eli could.

Peyton couldn’t beat the Patriots, Eli could.

I’m starting to see a pattern here.

I pity people who take this much “satisfaction” out of the agony of defeat of a team of class players like the Pat’s. It shows just how little class some people (who cry about how little class Belichick displays) can have. You know, the pot calling the kettle black sort of behavior!!!!! Two very good teams played their hearts out for the championship of Pro Football. One team came away with the prize. The other team left everything they had on the field of battle. Both deserve accolades. Those who can’t or won’t acknowledge this are the epitome of poor sportsmen.

He shook hands with the other coach and walked off. At that point the game was no longer about the Pats and all of the other hysteria. The Giants deserved their time on the stage.

On any given Sunday....

What I like about the NFL is that it provides a stage for top tier guys to step up and become legends. Brady has had many a turn like Montana, Bradshaw, Aikman and others before him. Last night it was Eli’s chance to step out and become more than Peyton’s kid brother and did he ever.

Some of us want them to lose because:

a) cheating (I don’t care how you rationalize it)

b) a QB who swings his #!$@# around siring illegitimate children getting accolades for being 1 of the “greatest” QBs ever

Frankly, the former will definitely hang over their heads no matter how you try to convince others it’s OK, so it’s better they don’t have the stigma of being “undefeated champions” while being called cheaters under the breath by 3/4 of the country. Better to be a loser when you’ve violated rules. Even if it’s only the SB lost. Bad enough now “cheater” and “undefeated season” are spoken in the same breath.

see you at Daytona

Why?? Nascar lost me about 2 years ago. The COT should be called the COY (Car of Yesterday), and NASCAR is in the back pocket of Chevy and Toyota. NASCAR is trying to force Dodge and Ford out.

Don't believe me? Watch them this year. They'll be happy to see a race to the cup with the RCR, Hendricks and Joe Gibbs in the top 10.

You’re saying he couldn’t stay on the field for 1 more second because he wanted, out of graciousness, to give the Giants their deserved time on stage? C’mon.

Maybe a bit, but when you go back over their season you can understand why many people found them so unimpressive.

Their losses down the stretch included a 41-17 debacle to Minnesota and a 22-10 loss to Washington in which they absolutely stunk up the joint (both of these were at home, too). And many of their wins were ugly (at best) . . . including a 16-10 victory over Detroit, that hideous 13-10 game against Miami, and a 16-13 win over Philadelphia in Week 14. They didn't even look very good in their late-season victory over Buffalo.

You not only sound like a little kid on the playground screaming “Cheater, cheater” you also come off like a sanctimonious ass who doesn’t know what they are talking about with respect to his personal life.

What difference does it make what happens in his personal life that isn’t against the law? What does it have to do with sports? He’s not a role model, he doesn’t hold himself out as one. He’s a highly paid professional athlete who makes a point not to talk about his business.

My son teaches at Brown University and is a big fan of the Pats.

He called this morning saying jokingly that half the state was on suicide watch.

I’m not sure why they didn’t just run the clock out and let the Giants have the field. Game was over and the Giants deserved the stage.

On to Daytona! Why?? See post #2,377, for my take of NASCAR. I still like auto racing (non NASCAR stock car racing!).
