This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:
"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of Americas industrial base."
"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.

Fred made more than just one bad endorsement and it didn’t seem to hurt him.

The point is Im going to have to bring myself to vote against the socialist. Bah! "Against the socialist" would omit Giuliani and Romney as well. I will NOT vote for a gun grabbing, baby killing RINO. Ever. *period*.
You may keep your RINOs.

Wow. I never understood why so many conservatives failed to endorse Duncan. And now I don't understand
this.
Oh well. There's still Alan Keyes! Why didn't Duncan endorse him? I hope not because "he doesn't have a chance," since that's the excuse everyone gave for not endorsing him.

I said all along that I would give all due consideration to who Duncan Hunter chose to endorse.
That doesn’t mean I’m going to end up on the same page with him and his endorsement, just as I didn’t agree with each and every position of Ronald Reagan.
As other posters have stated, Hunter must have persuasive and powerful reasons to endorse Huckabee, and he did not make that endorsement on a whim, that I believe.
I’ll give it some thought, I owe Duncan Hunter that much, and more.

McCain looks great compared to Huckabee. Anyone who doesnt support Medicare D (8 trillion unfunded liabilities)gets my respect. McCain supports shamnisty which will cost more then part D. Besides, in the long term part D may save money by keeping people out of the hospital.
I actually liked Pence. I couldn't believe it when he teamed up with Hucthison to promote guest workers.

Maybe its time for a lot of FReepers to look at themselves in the mirror.
Be sure to drink some Pepto before you do that in your bathroom mirror, ok?

Actually, my sarcasm is not intended for Duncan Hunter supporters.
Of all the special interest candidate cliques in here, the Hunter FReepers are the most polite.
I was thinking of the more obnoxious posters that take such great pride in piling on Mike Huckabee...and here he gets what is tantamount to the Papal Blessing from the purest Conservative in the race.
How can so many posters be out of touch with reality? It's darned funny!

Here's some links that shows Rush's change of state of mind. He used to be the GOP waterboy and up until a few weeks ago, did say he would support ANY GOP candidate. He seems to have found the principles that he started with since then, however:
Here's where Rush says "I can see possibly not supporting the Republican nominee this election, and I never thought that I would say that in my life."
link
I can't quickly find the quote about if McCain or Huckabee gets the nomination, it would be the end of the Republican party. It was on a thread here as well....Anyone? I'm out of time here and get to go hang out with the child ;)

Huckabee is the best communicator in the pack and with someone behind him that knows what to communicate; They overlook him at their own peril.Good communicator - not as good as Mitt Romney IMO. While I prefer Mitt I believe Huckabee is indeed a strong candidate. My problem with Huck is his compassionate conservatism slant but again that is better than pure socialist (Hillary).
To: mkjessup
And thanks for playing MKJ. You're the very definition of the type of Freeper to which I'm referring.
Your insane and blind attacks on Mike Huckabee and here come "The Pope of Conservative Village" to endorse him.
ROFL! Thanks for the laughs.
