This was a surprise. From the Hunter statement:
"I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," said Hunter. "Of the remaining candidates I feel that he is strongly committed to strengthening national defense, constructing the border fence and meeting the challenge of China's emergence as a military superpower that is taking large portions of Americas industrial base."
"Along with these issues of national security, border enforcement and protecting the U.S. industrial base, I see another quality of Mike Huckabee's candidacy that compels my endorsement. Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed. The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee," Hunter concluded.
Sorry. That was a hiccup. I wasn’t spamming.
Maybe it’s time for a lot of FReepers to look at themselves in the mirror.
Come on now. You don’t have to continue to insult we Duncan Hunter supporters.
That shows very little class.
Drowned out by the Voice of Wifey, methinks.
No, I didn’t leave out Romney. Rush seems ok with Romney - I’m not going to repeat everything I heard him say on it. His website might.
You single out votes Hunter made that, in your mind, paints him as corrupt? If you choose to do that then it is quite logical that you would apply the same brush to the rest of his peers as well. Would you not?
I think the GOP died this week, along with Heath Ledger.
So much for the conservative Duncan Hunter...
After Huckabee you won’t have anyone left that is even close to being Conservative.
Watch for Thompson to endorse Huckabee, and real soon too.
Then we can enjoy another Romney whine-fest.
NPR, Time, and usatoday have all started pushing Romney recently. That is the core of the liberal media.

I don’t have a link for the NPR, but I hear it all the time because they play NPR news on the jazz station I listen to.
Days after this came out, I heard several stories about Romney on NPR news.
Forty-seven percent (47%) say they will vote against Romney as high as Hidlebeast.
Romney does especially bad in upper mid west Iowa, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, Indiana, etc. That is were the election will be won or lost.
In a political campaign, it is much easier to add to positives then it is to subtract negatives.
I suspect we will see and hear Huckabee talking and acting very differently in the coming weeks. There is not a candidate remaining that isn’t a recent convert, so one is as good or as bad as the other. Huckabee is malleable and respects Hunter and also an endorsement of Huckabee jams a thumb in the eye of the GOP elite. Huckabee is the best communicator in the pack and with someone behind him that knows what to communicate; They overlook him at their own peril.
I felt the same way..was frustrated that Hunter wasn’t getting more press, despite his inability to speak well..he is worse at bungling speech than Bush. Then he backs Huckabee...I hope Fred Thompson doesn’t throw a curve ball like this when he finally decides to back someone.
And Thompsons young wife goaded him into running, didn’t she?
70% or more of Republicans voted against the Flake amendments. Tell me, oh wise one: Are all 70+% of those congresscritters "corrupt" because of it? (HINT: They voted against the Flake amendments because they were a joke and BAD LAW!)
Are you married?
No exploding head, here. I was a Hunter supporter. I just wonder if he looked to see if Huckafrauds fingers were crossed behind his back.
Really peculiar. I’ve never noticed Huckster even mentioning China in any way, shape, matter or form.
Anybody?
Another one of my heros comes crashing to Earth.
There are two assumptions in that statement that I have no reason to believe at face value.
I don't think they get to know each other. They avoid each other on the campaign trail.
And I've seen no evidence that any of the other candidates like each other at all.
