I first saw Hopkins in the early 1970s on public TV’s “Masterpiece Theater” which was broadcasting a British TV version of “War & Peace”. Hopkins played Pierre Bezuhov.

I was threatened because I allegedly insulted a member (I did not). Apparently my distaste for those who seem to worship the Hollyweird types, in spite of this idiots being unable to read the instructions on his pill bottle, has rankled some who took my criticism of the druggie as personal. They then decided to use this as a reason to boot me saying I was “skating on thin ice”

I don’t like being threatened and I think people who use threats to shut people up are assh*les of the first order.

It’s easy to accidentally overdose on pills. I had a really viscous cold once and it was pill time, which included prescription codeine so I could breath without pain. Well instead of being smart and taking out all the pill bottles at once and then taking out one of each pill feverish me just started grabbing bottles one at a time and taking the pills. Then I thought “hey didn’t I already take a codeine”, and indeed I had. Luckily 2 codeine isn’t going to kill you, but it was still an accidental overdose, drugs and fogged thinking is a hairy combo.

Course that doesn’t mean it’s what happened to Ledger. But it is to point out that people can legitimately accidentally OD.

That has unfortunately happened to many, it very well might have happened to him. Rest his soul.

Yes, Westlander, Casanova on DVD. My experience with it was that the second time through I enjoyed it more, and that’s after really liking it the first time.

Interesting you haven’t been in a theater in 25 years. By choice? The popcorn hasn’t changed, and may have gotten worse. And the people are louder, I like to get away from work one or two afternoons a month and catch a weekday matinee, less people i.e. noise.
