Just broke on Fox - details to come.
Fox News now reporting the Mary Kate Olsen angle is a false rumor.
Very sorry to hear about it. Another talented actor’s life cut short. What a shame.
That’s 3 if you count Suzanne Pleshette and the Brady Bunch guy (Sam the butcher?).
Latest:
TMZ has learned Heath Ledger had a substance abuse problem. A Ledger confidante tells us he had been clean for a year.
LOL!
Sam the Butcher, Suzanne Pleshette, and now Heath per Rockiin Right.
Um, didn’t Brandon Lee die because of a quack props guy?
Suggest a course for you in reading comprehension.
Apart from the fact that you are constitutionally-entitled to refer to this man as a “degenerate” if you wish, what does the Constitution have to do with this?
I wasn't a huge fan of Heath's, but I did see a few of his movies (Casanova, Patriot, was looking forward to Batman) and thought the kid had talent.
RIP...
He tends to do that. He is here in London filming the latest episode of the ‘’Batman’’ franchise, ‘’The Dark Knight.’’ (Mr. Bale, as it happens, plays Batman; Mr. Ledger plays the Joker.) It is a physically and mentally draining role — his Joker is a ‘’psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy’’ he said cheerfully — and, as often happens when he throws himself into a part, he is not sleeping much.
‘’Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night,’’ he said. ‘’I couldn’t stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going.’’ One night he took an Ambien, which failed to work. He took a second one and fell into a stupor, only to wake up an hour later, his mind still racing.
Both good movies. A very young Hopkins played a homosexual in "Lion in Winter," also a classic with O'Toole, Hepburn and a young Timothy Dalton. I also liked Hopkins in "Legends Of The Fall," and as the Lieutenant Colonel Johnny Frost in, "A Bridge Too Far."
One of my "guilty pleasure" movies. Just watched it again, when I stumbled upon a showing of it on cable this weekend.
Great. Let’s get started. Please identify a comment on this thread that “defends” Mr. Ledger’s death.
Sorry for an attempt at some humor in the midst of this sad news, but some folks might say that dying in Mary Kate Olsen's bed is not a bad way to go at all.
Apparently you gave enough of a hoot to hop on the thread. Show some respect.
You said it yourself when you said “Instead of being smart...” But yours is a rare case IMO. What this guy did happens all to frequently among the Hollyweird types and the excuse is always accidental overdose. It’s not, it’s stupidity pure and simple.
Also Brad Renfro who was great in Apt Pupil.
