Agreed.

Don’t get me wrong, I was guilty of my fair share of “Brokeback” jokes but the honest truth is, Heath and Jake are two of the better actors in their age group.

The Culture of Death claims another victim.

I never saw Bareback Mountain [and never will], but I saw a few minutes of Candy on cable TV, and, well, the Culture of Death just keeps marching on...

To play them sympathetically in today's culture shows warped character IMO.

But that's Hollyweird.

At least The Fisher King was coherent.

FOX News just posted this:

Police believe the death was "drug related."

Det. Mark Furman on FOX now. Previous guests said it could be suicide and the pills were related to this, but no one knows yet.

I am truly stunned and very sad. This man had a ton of potential as an actor.

I agree, I've always liked him since '10 Things I Hate About You'.

Best high school date movie of its time.

"Like he was the only actor who ever played a gay character before? Give me a break."

And most of those actors who have, have also lost me, my support and my box office revenue. It's not so much the role of a gay person that turns me off, but it's the context in which homosexuality is lionized and romanticized.

Obviously, I don't celebrate the death of this young man, a tragedy regardless of the cause. I simply haven't supported him as an actor since Brokeback. He had a free choice in selecting a part that made a political statement and I reserve my freedom in how I dispense of my entertainment $$.

I wouldn't have done it, just as I wouldn't have played a role in a movie glorifying or romanticizing the KKK, cannibalism, or child abuse.

Did you actually see the movie? I saw it on cable a few weeks ago. IMHO, it didn't romanticize anything -- it portrayed the gay lifestyle as the sad, dysfunctional and depressing life that it is.

What a shame. Such a young guy, and a fairly good actor IMO.

I agree. He didn’t write Brokeback Mountain, he’s not personally promoting the homosexual agenda, he merely played a part. He is an actor. If we are that shallow and self absorbed to believe that, or that his life means nothing because of it, we are just as despicable as those who commit hate crimes

And this is coming from someone who doesn’t support the homosexual agenda at all. Yet, I am still human.
