Just heard on Laura Ingram (quoting Carl Cameron of FoxNews) that Thompson will drop out tomorrow.
Bad results, ill mother....
When Laura said about Mitt, hes hot!!!!, I shook and bowed my head.
I am glad I did not hear that. lol. People always say here that politics has turned in American Idol but I never believed it. If just thought it was some FRiends being funny, but that statement is a bit disturbing. lol.
Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but these two self professed Conservatives are either showing a lack of intelligence or they're part of the “New Conservative” movement, the one where anyone can proclaim they are conservative, regardless of past actions.
I always thought of him as a spoiler myself. If he drops out and supports, mcpain, it will have come full circle.
Too bad people were so busy worrying about the mythical electability beast that they could only throw a good man an anchor as he drown.
I so agree with that. God help our country now.
Not me.
Romney has been playing dirty tricks on Thompson since the fake website Romney put up before Thompson got in the race.
Oh, and folks, an FYI.
I was around in 2000 when the “base” were extremely loud about not voting for the lesser of two evils in Bush, when they could have had Bauer or Keyes or Forbes.
Turnout was just fine. The narrow win was because of the DUI report release and the stay at homes were so very few that they didn’t matter — and Hillary is much more hated than Gore was.
So everyone can relax. There is nothing new under the sun. In fact, I see fewer chest beaters on FR announcing stay at home plans now than I did in 2000. Folks are decent folks here on FR, now and in 2000, and when the time comes they won’t condemn their family and neighbors to life under Hillary with a Democrat Congress.
You will always have that, at least for now...
“But all is not lost. Freedom and liberty require eternal vigilance and conservatives can take back the party.”
But, in the meantime, to what extent will the country be reduced to? With today’s changing demographics I fear that conservatism is a dying philosophy. Like entropy, liberalism’s end result is an irriversible path to chaos. Freedom and liberty, in the past, were often obtained by violence, upheaval and revolution, as is the case in our own history. What has not been factored into the equation is the ever creeping danger of Islam that our politicians conveniently ignore.
If Fred can only hang in there until Huckabee drops out, then he can still pull it out. My fear is that if he drops out, Huckabee will be the beneficiary, and new life will be breathed into his campaign.
If Fred drops out, I won’t be watching any more of the debates.
Fred is gone. It’s over. Everyone can’t have their candidate. Conservatism has degrees. It always has. We all choose the least bad option and in the general election that will be easy to choose.
Wow.
Lots of disappointments lately, eh?
Conservative VOTERS are most definitely allowed in the GOP Big Tent . . . as long as they stay seated in the back of the bus.
I am starting to get pissed at Cheney. In the end what was he good for if not to carry on the fight? Grrr!
No use getting pissed at Cheney. He told us from the beginning that he would not run for President. We had eight years to get our act together, but we waited too long and we are still not there.
My bumper sticker for next year;
Don't Blame Me, I'm One Of The Very Few Who Voted Republican
Thanks! Though I’m sure you wouldn’t last long with a bunch of pissed off conservatives around.
What is the current delegate count? Does anybody have those figures?
Of course Fred has to drop first...
“Fred did not realize how much he would have benefitted from the many months of early (ridiculously early, IMHO) debates. He may have learned before the primaries started how to talk a little faster, to stop clearing his throat and to keep his hands off of his face.
I agree with his positions more than those of any other candidate and believe that he is a man of character. I worried about the lack of leadership that he demonstrated in the Senate Chinese funny-money hearings.
Sadly his years of seventeen takes to get a couple of sentences right on Law and Order did nothing to improve his ability to appeal to a one-take audience.”

I’m with you on that. It would indeed be nice if we could have some long-format “Lincoln-Douglas”-style substantive debates but you run with the tactics they’re using.
I too, have not forgotten his somnambulistic performance on the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee during ChinaGate. I recall other conservatives noting this would eventually come back to bite him.
I see him hurting Huckabee the most, taking away the southern vote.
