He isn’t out. He might be out after Florida. Then he will likely endorse McCain, who he endorsed in 2000.

You can forget that. If Fred supports anyone it will be “my friend” McQueeg.

I believe you have to drop out before you endorse another candidate. Since he hasn’t, and the media is selecting our candidate anyway, let’s not give them extra ammo.

If he drops, I don’t think he’ll endorse any of them. The only one with a chance is Romney. McCain (yes, I know its his friend) and Huck are just too ideologically different than Fred. Fred has too much integrity to endorse someone who is bad for conservatism.

Romney flip flops as badly as Kerry or Huckabee. These days he talks like a conservative, but I don't recollect him governing like one. I have no idea what I'd get with him.
I certainly don't agree with McCain on everything, but I feel like I know what to expect with him.
All that being said, Fred can make a nice VP candidate for someone.

Vanities are bad enough but this one takes the cake. Why don’t you wait and see if he plans on competing in Florida.
To: Delacon
I guess our only hope is Fred is the VP pick for McScream, to help pull the conservative vote. Then, McScream blows a gasket and Fred is the prez.

If Fred supports McCain, especially after that immigration fiasco last summer, then Fred wasn’t the man I thought he was and I will rejoice that he leaves the race.

My frustration with the Republican primaries so far us that voters seem to be supporting "electable" people. I think that is a foolish strategy.
Thompson was always my number two guy. I've never had anything bad to say about him. I've always indicated that I'd be pleased to vote for him. He was, IMO, a true conservative, and the type of candidate who could make a difference. The only candidate who was better, IMO, was Duncan Hunter.
If Thompson drops out, and Hunter stays in, then Thompson should endorse Hunter -- they have always been the most similar of all the candidates.
Of course, Thompson is most likely to endorse McCain. Which is why the GOP is in very serious trouble.

Romney is the only one left that can stop McCain and salvage the Republican Party. That’s a plain fact at this point.

The only candidate Fred has not attacked with an vigor is McCain. Seeings how their legislative records are almost identical and they are old friends, conventional wisdom has it he will endorse McCain.
If he REALLY wants to make an impact he will not do that -- I'd rather see him endorse nobody than McCain.

If Fred bails, then I’ll have to jump on the Huckabee bandwagon. He is far from perfect, but at least he is a true social conservative and I can trust him on the judges he would appoint.

It’s not over till it’s over. And it’s not over yet.
There’s nothing set in stone. And being as I’m not one to give up with out a fight myself, I personally hope my candidate of choice (Fred Thompson) isn’t either. Because that’s what I’m looking for in a candidate. I’m looking for a fighter. Someone with a level head and stands his ground even when the chips seem do be down.
Someone who wont give up till the fat lady sings.
