Today is the day.
Sort of true....you don't have to declare your party, but you can only vote in one primary. If you vote today during Repub primary, your shut out of next weeks Dem primary. I don't think you'll see too many Dems giving up their vote to screw the Repubs.
Trying to vote "strategically" is indeed a wasted vote.
For Upstate SC:
401 AM EST SAT JAN 19 2008
...SNOW ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EST THIS EVENING...
THE SNOW ADVISORY IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EST THIS EVENING FOR MUCH OF THE FOOTHILLS AND PIEDMONT OF THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND EXTREME NORTHEAST GEORGIA.
AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE OFF THE TEXAS COAST WILL TRACK QUICKLY NORTHEAST TO A POSITION OVER THE FLORIDA PENINSULA BY THIS EVENING. A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE REGION EARLY THIS MORNING...WITH THE PRECIPITATION CHANGING TO ALL SNOW BY LATE MORNING. MOST AREAS ARE EXPECTED TO RECEIVE 1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOWFALL BEFORE PRECIPITATION TAPERS OFF IN THE LATE AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING.
A BAND OF HEAVIER SNOW MAY DEVELOP SOMEWHERE ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA DURING THE LATE MORNING HOURS...MOST LIKELY OVER THE NORTHERN UPSTATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA OR THE SOUTHERN PIEDMONT OF NORTH CAROLINA. IF THIS BAND DOES DEVELOP...LOCAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS COULD REACH 4 INCHES.
A SNOW ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
I would not be surprised that in the Northern Greenville area that we get around 3-4 inches. Now the radar shows Atlanta getting the snow now, and what ever they get, we usually get in around two hours later. I’ll keep y’all posted on the weather.
As a Fred supporter, what would your feelings be if he teamed up on a ticket with McCain with Thompson being the VP?
Would like to hear from any other Fred supporters on what they think of this combo.
you’re living dangerously for around here but you might have a point....odds are you do
folks around here are gonna shite if Fred drops out and endorses Queeg
what a mess
I hope you’re right about Fred. 2nd place would be terrific...and would keep him the race, I believe.
Maybe the weather will produce that “miracle” I mentioned earlier.
I hope the weather in SC does not effect the urn out.
Here’s an interesting little anecdote:

VERY early returns from Lexington County, S.C. [Michael Graham]
From a blog:
Four votes for Fred Thompson from a family of evangelicals, which is interesting because, when I spoke to these same folks two weeks ago, none of them were Thompson supporters. In fact, they were barely aware of his candidacy. One was a Giuliani supporter and the others were looking fondly upon Huckabee, but hadn’t made a decision.

Any ticket with McCain or Huck on it, is a ticket I will never vote for- no matter who the VP is.
Snow in Up Country may hurt Huckabee big time.
The SC primary is a regional battle between Up Country (Huckabee) and Low Country (McCain).
Turnout in these places will be key for the candidates.
Looking at the slow, steady tide of support that’s building for Fred, I PRAY he doesn’t pull out after this primary. He’s gonna take second or third out of a field of 6 and that is no small thing. The longer he stays in, the more support he’ll gain, IMO. Now that the media has been forced to stop ignoring him and pay attention to him...even if it IS only to attack him.
I'm considering changing my Tagline to: "Well, you don't have to get snippy about it!"~~~Al Gore"
Significant fact! NICE
GO AHEAD FRED for a STUNNING VICTORY finding out the MSM game
I just don’t see McCain winning the nomination, regardless. It seems to me he tops out at 30-35% max. After that, too many folks despise him - I hope!
For me, it remains as it has for some time. If Huckabee gets the nod, I don’t vote for President. If McCain gets the nod, I vote for the democrat for President.
