Obama's church: More about Africa than God? Chicago congregation has 'non-negotiable commitment' to 'mother continent' While some election commentators are looking carefully at the level of devotion Sen. Barack Obama has to Islam, it is the strong African-centered and race-based philosophy of the senator's United Church of Christ that has some bloggers crying foul.
Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago is where Obama was baptized as a Christian two decades ago, even borrowing the title for one of his books, "The Audacity of Hope," from a sermon by his senior pastor, the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.
The first paragraph of the "About Us" section of the church's website mentions the word "black" or "Africa" five times:
"We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian. ... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community."

Funny how changing one single word makes it hate speech.
Then again IMO both are wrong.
Thanks for posting.
There will be more adverse info coming out about both B. Hussein and his Pastor in the coming months...
Trinity United Church of Christ
Barack Obama is a member of this church and is running for President of the U.S. If you look at the first page of their website, you will learn that this congregation has a non-negotiable commitment to Africa. No where is AMERICA even mentioned.
The problem with much of the black self-reliance movement is its fetishization of Africa and impotent rage at "the White man."
It is also clearly inappropriate to mix Christianity and race - no orthodox form of Christianity has ever had such a distinction made anywhere in its canons, catechisms or creeds.
.
Gee, I wonder if cached pages will become significant with this.
Sounds like a “Church” more focused on White Hate and Blame than Godly Love and Salvation......
Obama close relationship with his racist “Minister”, Obama’s difficulty with the Pledge of Allegiance, Obama’s refusal to say HOW he is going to accomplish all the “dreamy and creamy” CHANGE in the lives of the downtrodden and dewy eyed fools -— is going to be tough on Obama...
I’m an old man, and I’ve NEVER heard a politician talk more and say less than Obama —— he’s from the school of speaking beautiful lines containing no substance.
He’s the perfect candidate for the average ignorant American voter today — and THAT’s what makes him so dangerous.
How a man blessed so much by this society and the people who made it so - could hate it so is incredible.....
No kidding. It’s double standard time.
Yet I wonder how much of their budget actually goes to helping desparately poor African Christians in Africa?
Little to none, I bet.
Little to none, I bet.
I imagine more of their budget goes to getting liberal politicians elected to the US Congress, than to poor Christians or other people in Africa.
Instead of replacing “black” with “white”, try “Irish” or “Polish” or “Chinese”, etc. Years ago, Catholic churches catered to ethnic communities. I grew up a member of one of those kinds of churches. They took pilgrimages to their “country of origin” and so on. They even restricted membership to people who were at least 1/8th of an ethnicity. They taught pride in one’s heritage. So, I don’t have a problem with his church being “unashamedly Black.”
My question is: What are the other teachings of this church? There is a lot of non-Christian teaching going on in some “Christian” churches today.
Yes, and they're getting away with it because no one wants to question what is being done in the name of Christianity.
It would be interesting if Obama's church were getting the same scrutiny as Romney's. But Obama's is "Christian," and Romney's is not.
Those who worship Africa and “Africanism” have never been there.
No kidding. They worship a fantasy that never happened.
Look at the website for radical changes in the next few months. Then they’ll pretend it was never said, and get away with it.
Not that the MSM would check it out anyway.
