1) Vote for McCain
2) Vote Dims - Kevorkian vote
3) Don't vote
4) Third party?
So, in effect, a vote for Hillary or Obama?
Good argument.
Powder..Patch..Ball FIRE!
Never McInsane. Never for anything. ever.
Without compromise politics does not exist.
Was Ronald Reagan a compromiser when he picked Richard Schweiker as his running mate in '76? How about when he chose GHW Bush as his running mate in '80? How about when he supported Bush for president in '88?
You folks who refuse to understand the nature of real conservative politics have gotten on my last nerve. Grow up.
LOL! (I get that one...:)
He isn't on the ballot the last time I checked.
Retreat and failure in Iraq
Resurgence of terrorism
Biologic or dirty bomb attack within the United States
Citizenship for 20 million illegals
"Ruth Bader Ginzberg" type SCOTUS appointments
Higher Taxes
Recession
Yeah! I'll vote for McCain.
I'll vote for any Republican over that and hope for the best.
If the country is going to put itself in the hands of a statist who understands nothing about America’s unique political culture and has no interest in preserving that culture I’ll take the Democrat statist. Also, when the choice is between an Annapolis trained statist and a Yale (or Harvard) Law School trained statist I’ll go with the latter. We’ve survived lawyer-statists before. Military (or naval) statists are more dangerous.
If conservatives go crawling back for more after McCain has spent more than a decade treating them the way David Huckabee notoriously treated a mangy stray dog, the conservative movement may never recover. A McCain victory in 2008 would mean that the Republican Party would, for the foreseeable future, cease to be a useful vehicle for conservative politics and that is the worst possible result.
National security is important but McCain is the most irresponsible candidate running in either party. The guy who obsesses about treating terrorists kindly and consulting the judiciary about intelligence gathering would be an unmitigated disaster as CinC.
If I have to be in opposition to the administration I much prefer to oppose a Democrat. W was as far left as I am willing to go. McCain wasn’t good enough in 2000 and, if anything my standards have gone up since then and his performance has gone down.
Thanks for having the courage to post that.
I was thinking almost exactly the same thing, had it on up on the editing web page prior to my posting, and then... deleted it, fearing it would be too inflamatory.
What I would like to add to your comments is that those who sit out the election or vote third party because the Republican candidate is not their personal choice, or is "too liberal" for them, become not only traitors to the conservative cause, but are nothing more than "fellow travelers" to the 'rats.
They further the 'rat cause, NOT ours. They are little more than useful idiots for the OTHER side.
So go ahead and sit it out, write in a candidate (what you don't realize is that by writing in a candidate's name for the office of the presidency, your ballot will be IGNORED as not being a legal write-in), or vote for some 3rd-party whacko - you will get the government you deserve.
Inflamatory enough?

“Isn’t it obvious. It would be much better to have Hillary. She would shut down talk radio. She would issue executive orders and create law without congress (who would oppose her...the spineless GOP?). She would name two more Ruth Bader Ginzbergs to the Supreme Court. And, more importantly, she would have Doug from Upland whacked.”
Hillary would probably shut down all the conservative blogs. And you know what law gives her the power to do that? McCain-FeinGold. So Mcain is better?
Either way we are screwed with a pro-Amnesty socialist who calls himself a Republican (McCain or Huckabee or a pro-Amnesty socialist who calls herself a Democrat.
At least after 2 years of Hillary we could have a chance of getting a conservative Republican congress like happened after 2 years of Clinton. But then after those 2 years we might already be a socailist state though.
As bad as I think the rinos are....I will cover my eyes and vote “R”.
I CANNOT even think how that will make me feel.
America surely doesn’t deserve this gang of liberals.
But I am voting AGAINST the dim machine that hates this country!
The only 2 that aren’t liberal, are Fred and Duncan! Now....they are the ones I can get excited about!!!
And my heart hurts, to even think about voting for anyone else.
But Praise the Lord another election is sure come about....just in time!!!!!
Hopefully before much damage is done........
What will you do when Hillary shuts down talk radio and the internet? How will you fight her then?
I’ll vote for him, but with a bitter taste in my mouth....it’ll definitely be a “lesser of two evils” vote.
So...President Clinton sounds okay to you then?
Do you harbor any hope that the brilliant Newt Gingrich could still get into this race or see any way that could happen?
Third party.
Not to mention some of the other radical ideas he supports such as removing caps on payroll taxes and socialized medicine.
If we have even four-years of Clinton or Obama, it will take decades, if ever, to remove the entitlement programs they enact.
Try again.
