1) Vote for McCain
2) Vote Dims - Kevorkian vote
3) Don't vote
4) Third party?
I think he’s hoping if he just keeps repeating “it isn’t amnesty, it’s reform” people will believe him. It’s kind of like saying “just because I’m cheating on my wife, that doesn’t make me an adulterer.”
Answer is NO. McCain is not normal. He looks physically ill. He is too corrupt.
Well said.
If McCain extends an olive branch to moral/social conservatives by picking Huckabee as his VP, he will definitely get my vote. Otherwise, he will get my vote, but not with any enthusiasm.
BTW - I DO think McCain will be the nominee and WILL pick Huckabee as his VP to shore up the value voting base of the GOP.
I love my country way too much and I hope everyone else feels the same.

Well said, and furthermore...those who say they will vote third party (of course, they have a right to) and pretend they are somehow taking the moral high road are engaging in a self-delusion that defies all logic. You don’t have to be for the un-perfect candidate to be against pure evil. Any action that will help the democrats get another chance at the White House is equivalent to desertion under fire. Come on, folks, don’t give up because you don’t get everything you want.
Unfortunately, that's been rattling around my mind as well;
A foam at the mouth liberal administration might force pubby politicians, as well as contributors/voters, to rediscover conservatism.
I would not bother to vote for McCain.
Could you please find a new line? That one is all played out.

Absolutely not.
One bank robbing, Chinese agent, pro crimalien invader, enemy of the Constitution is the same as any other.
It woould be diffiicult but I would do so. I came to the realization over the last few days that I would prefer McCain and Romney to Huckabee.
My choices
1. Hunter
2. Thompson
Tied for third
3. McCain holding nose
Romney holding nose
4. Giuliani holding nose and crossing fingers
And tied for last... meaning no way ever would I vote for them
5. Huckabee and Paul
Yes.
Of course.
I'm not the brightest bulb on FreeRepublic. But I'm smart enough to know that turning away and handing the election to the 'rats simply because MY candidate didn't make the final cut is beyond stupid.
I may be dumb, but I'm not THAT dumb!

Republicans don’t get my vote by default either, I vote solely on issues. Unfortunately, I’m very secular and believe in Evolution. Three candidates in this matter don’t believe in evolution, which scares the hell out of me. I will probably vote third party.
Most of the things that the president does have to be approved by congress like nominations, judges etc.
To vote in a pro-Amnesty socialist because he calls himself a Republican (Huckabee or McCain) over a pro-Amnesty socialist who calls himself a Democrat is foolish at best and will destroy America and give us a Democrat Congress because the media will blame Republicans for anything a Republican president does like they Bash Bush constantly. But with a Democrat President at least we have a shot at having a Republican Congress. Remember that Congress has to approve any appointments even supreme court justices.
How can you claim you’re voting for national security when you vote for a guy who supports the other side in the war we are losing to Mexico?
There’s no war on anything but America when you leave the borders wide open.
You are correct, sir.
” The justices are not there for 1 term. With any Pubbie, we have a chance to change the court. The stakes are too high for “fantasy priciples.” Do you think that even if a dim is only a one termer, the court will change? There will be younger dims selected and they will last for a long time.”
McCain hasn’t shown he would pick anyone better than the Dims.
Gang of 14 and all that.
Come on, people. If he gets the nomination, it is no time to run away. What we do is put on enormous pressure to get him to make commitments in which we believe. He has to know he will not get any money from us unless he goes along with the party platform of closing the borders, working toward self-deportation, and putting business owners in jail who violated the law. That is what we can do. Or, you can just be a crybaby and give up the fight. HILLARY IN THE WHITE HOUSE IS UNTHINKABLE!
No way. If that means that we have to endure four years of Hillary, then we deserve it.
I thought that perhaps we conservatives had taught the Republicans a lesson in 2006. Obviously, we still have not made believers of them.
McCain, Graham, and those of their ilk consistantly violate conservative principals, and that is bad enough... but then they add insult to injury by being arrogant about it.
Ya’ll remember to hold your noses while McCain further waters down the First Ammendment, closes Gitmo, gives the terrorists a “bill of rights”, bans etablished interrogation techniques for our enemies, keeps “reaching across tthe aisle” to Ted Kennedy (more like “grabbing the ankles”) and, oh yeah... gives our country away to illegals.
I’d rather be stabbed in the front by Hillary by staying home than begging Mccain to stab me in the back (again) by voting for him.
“Conservatives” who vote for known enemies of the Constitution are hideous traitors to the nation.
Cracker Jack,
In all liklihood, if my state was close like Florida in 2000, then I would vote for McCain knowing that I had a potentially important vote to cast.
That said, if I know beyond a reasonable doubt that I can’t affect the electoral outcome with my vote, then I would make the protest vote.
A lot of people who will vote third party here at FR would do exactly the same thing. So, you see, in no way could I fathom letting HRC win if I knew that my vote was potentially a decider.
If the outcome of my state is not in doubt, however, then I like the third party option because it says that “I’m not happy with any of you.”
So, instead of trying to get conservative Freepers to vote third party, I would encourage them to vote strategically. If you’re in a state that’s too close to call and winning that state could mean the difference, then you need to think long and hard about it at the very least.
On the other hand, protest votes, when used in the correct places, can be effective tools for sending a message.
I hope that I’ve made you feel better and I do encourage anybody who’s a conservative to use that same strategy.
