More idiocy from the Garbage State.
Makes me feel good about living a "stone's throw" from the Governor's Mansion.

These people are not so bright. They would just give solidly democratic votes to Republicans.

What an obviously stupid idea.
What would this do to local elections in presidential years? Why would people turn out?

Congratulations NJ. Now, no candidate needs to bother campaigning in your state. You’ve effectively disenfranchised your entire citizenry.

Unconstitutional per Article I Section 10 paragraph 3 of the U.S. Constitution.

New Jersey has done very significant things to and for the country before. One thing for sure, the small states with three EC votes would not approve of this at all.

As long as it is blue states who enter into the agreement, that’s fine with me. Just leave states like Texas and Florida out of it.

Totally, completely and unequivocally unconstitutional. No wonder it is Democrats coming up with it.

The other problem with this, of course, is that right now I only have to worry about vote fraud in Newark and Camden cancelling out my vote. If this sails through, some idiot multiple dead voter in Cook County, Illinois will be able to cancel out my vote. That is just not acceptable.

That’s right, lets promote more vote fraud. If the POTUS is elected by popular vote all you need to win is the ability and willingness to inflate the voting records in the more corrupt urban areas.

If enough states keep messing with the presidential electoral process, the electoral college system may finally go away and “We the People” can take true control over the presidential election process. You don’t criticize possible change based on who would have won in the past or which party might benefit more in the future. You correct the system based on common sense and integrity. As for me, I am tired of the bigger states having a bigger say when it comes to presidential elections. If we are truly a government of the people, by the people and for the people, then the voice of the people should be the final word.

New Jersey is close to entering a compact that would eliminate the power of the Electoral College to choose a president if enough states endorse the idea. The state Senate voted Thursday to approve delivering the state's 15 electoral votes for president to the winner of the national popular vote. New Jersey is not eliminating the power of the Electoral College.
It is merely making New Jersey issues irrelevant to the outcome of the Presidential election.

Corzine is a puke.
Go ahead and sign, and influence the election not a bit, and undermine New Jersey’s role in the election more than it already is.
After all, NJ is not exactly a “swing State.”

Completely within the limits set by the Constitution.
.
Article. II.
Section. 1. The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.
