Rumor circulating on the Fred08 blog that there is going to be a major "surprise" announcement coming this morning.
Perhaps an NRA endorsement or a major political figure?

I think he will make a good President but his “charisma” and “energy” were a big disappointment to me.

He is to much dull for my taste. Is he a good conservative? Absolutely. Is he charismatic? Not in my judgment, but for most freepers he is.

Why is it news what kind of shoes he wore?
Good grief. Who cares? Is this how they report on other candidates?
Where does he stand on the GWOT, on abortion, on taxes, on illegal immigration? What are his plans for social security, for healthcare, and education?
That’s what the people want to know. Not what kind of shoes he wears. They can get their fashion info elsewhere.

You know, that actually does sound like something Fred would say.
Just like one of his campaign's priceless responses to a newspaper's weekly "What misconceptions would you like to clear up?" question. "Really not much of a breakdancer."

Why he should pull out if he had any morals:
On Nov. 7, 2005, Gov. Romney touted the 30 months and half a million dollars his administration had spent shaping the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, which will reduce global warming gas pollution by 10 percent by 2019. “I’m convinced it is good business,” said Romney. On Dec. 14, 2005, one hour before clearing the way for his presidential ambitions by announcing that he would not run again for governor, Mitt Romney abruptly pulled Massachusetts out of the agreement, saying it would be bad for business.

See post 37 in this thread.
I am 99.9% certain that Fred will NOT get the NRA endorsement in the presidential primary. ESPECIALLY if they look at other issues, namely, whether he is going to win or not.
The NRA is one of the best operations out there. They aren’t going to get hitched up with a campaign that is going nowhere - especially when Huckabee (sort of a co-front runner at this stage) is fine on guns (and again, I’m not for Huckabee).
But...we shall see. If Fred somehow manages to pull of an NRA endorsement, I will congratulate him. And if he manages to survive until my state’s primary (doubtful), I’ll certainly vote for him.

hey there, watch it now - you stole my comparison, lol.

“Most people understand ‘trophy wife’ to be perjorative.”
The correct statement is that you understand trophy wife to be perjorative. It’s unfortunate if you or others feelings get hurt over the phrase.
Then again, I’m not responsible for your feelings
