Fred08.Com ^

Posted on 12/26/2007 7:55:28 AM PST by Onerom99

Rumor circulating on the Fred08 blog that there is going to be a major "surprise" announcement coming this morning.

Perhaps an NRA endorsement or a major political figure?

THere’s more to social conservatism than merely abortion and gay marriage. It seems to me that FDT is against abortion. I don’t know about gay marriage. He’s also anti amnesty and pro secure the borders.

Huckster is weak on everything except abortion and gay marriage, and possibly the 2nd Am but I’m not convinced. I think he’s lying.

Romney is weak on everything except budget and family values.

Rudy is weak on everything except crime and the war.

Hunter is strong on everything except the polls.

Ron Paul has some interesting ideas and a whole lot of wacky ideas.

McCain is liked by moderates, the media, and possibly the military, but weak otherwise.

It seems to me FDT is the best overall choice for conservatives. McCain is the best overall choice if you want to ignore conservatism and play the guessing game of who can attract the most votes from the other side. Especially if he teams up with Lieberman, which in my opinion would be a good strategic move for him.

I was a tancredo fan. Normally, I think I’d go with hunter in place of tancredo, but there’s something about the way fred treats the media that I just love. He thinks they’re idiots, and doesn’t try to hide it. And he treats them like they are idiots. I really like that. I havn’t seen that kind of attitude since reagan. I also like his short simple answers. Anyone displaying a healthy disdain for the MSM is a good egg in my book.

So, why is there such a strong following for rudy and romney? You’ve done a good job making me understand the huckabee phenomenon. But the romney and rudy followers just don’t make any sense to me.

How do you feel about his attacks on Rumsfeld?

Came across as a pompous ass.

Latest video: Crunch Time In Iowa
http://fredfile.fred08.com/blog/2007/video-crunch-time-in-iowa/

And from NumbersUSA as of December 21:
“Now that Rep. Tom Tancredo has dropped out of the race, only two candidates (THOMPSON & HUNTER) are left who have vigorous and thorough enough opposition to amnesty to warrant an EXCELLENT rating.”

GO FRED! :)

Everybody who’s served thinks their DI acted like an a-hole.

“That has not been my experience. Duly noted.”

That’s because you’ve never served. Duly noted.

“I never heard that they attacked his shoes.”

Thompson wore Gucci shoes to the Iowa State Fair. Fox thought it was worthy of news.

The original post said it was a rumor something would be announced this morning. By my clock, that was 10 hours ago. Must be no more than a rumor.

Nope, I do not expect any good answer from many (not all) of Fred Thompson supporters on FR.

Their disdain for Fred Thompson is so palpable. I just don't get it.

My opnion is that Mike Huckabee may be “good on guns”, but he isn’t good on everything else. “

My post only dealt with the fact that the NRA won’t endorse Thompson, b/c, among other reasons, Huckabee is good on guns.

I don’t think Huckabee is good for much. I wasn’t praising him, at all. I was only pointing out that the NRA won’t endorse Fred.

Did they, by the way? Haven’t seen much news today. But I’d be pretty darn surprised if the NRA endorsed Fred Thompson.
