[I waited 45 seconds and actually posted something substantial--Ed.]
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.
Oh, and BTW - another of MM's online forum ID's is dyingchild_65
Well, I just have to thank you wholeheartedly for sharing this wisdom... I had never before contemplated about Judas and Jesus’ friendship in this way. It’s very enlightening to say the least. This is something that I know will help me in the future as I contemplate the things in my past... Thank you, FRiend! :)
YW, friend. It was certainly enlightening at the time for me, as well, and sorely needed encouragement.
Here are some excerpts, w/ me adding hilites:
A post from DyingChild_65, made at 9:33 a.m. Sunday [ie between killings], said he had been a member of the Denver chapter of Youth With a Mission, a member of the occult group Ad Astra Oasis in Denver and a staff member of the missionary group King's Kids Denver.
.......
Murray participated in several camps with King's Kids Denver, which does Christian outreach. The family that runs King's Kids Denver introduced Murray to Youth With a Mission in Denver, said Paul Filidis, a spokesman for Youth With a Mission in Colorado Springs.
"They said he was a special case," Filidis said Tuesday, agreeing to speak after talking with King's Kids Denver director Ronny Morris.
After Youth With a Mission officials refused to send Murray on a mission, the Morris family offered to talk to YWAM officials but Murray asked them not to, said Filidis.
Morris' daughter Veronica said, "We loved Matthew, and we cared for him the best we could."
No doubt, he refused their help and their love, because like everyone else in his life who tried to help him, he could see right through them for the hypocritical Christian liars that they were, always lying to him about wanting to help him.
And I can state that with virtual certainty, because ....... HEY, IF EVEN 10% OF WHAT HE SAYS IS TRUE......
(Oops! Did I violate someone's copyright? Sorry!)
Wow....how pathetic a person he was.
I just don’t know what to say about someone who, from all accounts I’ve seen, could have had a good life, if he so chose.
What a tragedy he chose to do evil unto others.
There are hypocrites in every walk of life.
But you are missing the point.
I don’t live my life according to the hypocrisy of others.
I life my own life to be TRUE.
And, I don’t base my choices on someone’s hypocritical behaviors. I look to Christ and HE is the PERSON UPON WHOM I AM TO BASE MY CHOICES AND BEHAVIORS....not fallible human beings.
You see, that’s the rub. We don’t look to “man” on how we should live.
We are COMMANDED to look to the Heavenlies, to Christ as our example, to Christ Who was not and is not a hypocrit.
This nutjob didn’t need medication, counseling or understanding. He needed an exorcist.
As an aside... Regarding The Golden Compass... I went right to the Horse’s Mouth so to speak. The author of the books himself is an atheist and stated that the whole reason he wrote the books was an effort to destroy children’s faith in G-d. Knowing that was enough for me to say — No, Never... And, incidently after reading the author’s own words my eldest daughter views it the same as I do... :) I’m not normally one to jump on the bandwagon of censorship in regards to my children (i.e. they and I enjoy the Harry Potter series). However, in this case, I believe it was necessary to take a very firm stand against it.
Hebrews 12:
2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider Him...
Ephesians 5:
1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Phillipians 1:
27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.
Phillipians 4:
8 Finally, brothers,
whatever is true [that would be Christ],
whatever is noble [that would be Christ],
whatever is right [that would be Christ],
whatever is pure [that would be Christ],
whatever is lovely [that would be Christ],
whatever is admirable [that would be Christ]
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy [that would be Christ]
think about such things [that would be Christ].
[In other words, look to Christ in all things on how to think, believe, act, and live...not at other fallible human beings. Whether you look to people as role models, or for justification of your own poor behaviors and choices, or as scapegoats or excuses for your own shortcomings, those are not things we are to do; Christians are to look to Christ, first, last, and always.]
I completley agree!
Ok, I'll try harder to remember the "</sarcasm>" next time!
Didn’t know, but what the hey. There’s posters going on about how this is all the parents fault...and they’re not being sarcastic. I haven’t read all your posts, and don’t know you well enough to know your style, either.
In any event, my posts still stand for anyone who isn’t thinking sarcastically about what you said. : )
No. Is that about some one that stabbed Rick's former abuser then committed suicide?
"There were so many clues and red flags. One guy knew it was Matthew, wonder if he tried to alert the authorities.
I think that was the person from the youth group that remembered him from 2002. He only made the connection to Murray after the events occurred. He described some behavior which would naively indicate the onset of schizophrenia, but I haven't seen much that indicates it was severe if present. There's no indication of blunted emotions I've seen. His problems apparently went critical when he was ~17, and was put on drugs. I doubt very much that the "doc" that put him on those was competent. The owner of the xpentacostal board that called the FBI after one of his last posts.
As Quix noted, he had a schizoid personality. That means he was severely introverted. The isolation I'm sure compounded that, if not causing it out right. That type of personality does not indicate schizophrenia, but can precede it, or lead to it. I haven't looked at all the writings that were available, just scanned them as I tried to grab them, before they disappeared. It appears that he invented some friends, in particular, a girl whose experiences are probably his. That's called a schizoid fantasy, where the person invents their own friends, because they are incapable of doing so otherwise. The fantasy results from an attempt to hide the loneliness and their own inability to break it through their own efforts at social interaction. In addition to the girl, he went to at least one concert, and an imaginary party with these "friends".
"Somehow he still knew that God was love,"
He didn't know what love is and he didn't know who God was. At 17, he came to the conclusion that he wasn't "saved", which was also the time he notes, that he was given the drugs. At that point he definitely needed competent psychiatric help, not drugs, pastors praying over him, rummaging through his stuff, and a send off to Youth camp, a place where he was sure to be rejected and chastised. He had neither the mental skills to deal with himself, nor the social skills to interact with others. From there it just went down hill.
"By the time you are in this kind of abnormal mental state, everybody rejects you."
Not everyone, but considering the environment he was in and attempted to be in, the rejection was inevitable and the help offered would have been worthless, because they were unable and unwilling to recognize what they had in front of them. He was a "sinner" foremost, in addition to being an unrecognized cripple. Just being a good friend to such a personality type and teaching them how to deal with the world can reverse both prior damage and the introversion itself. It can result in significant personality change, capacity for productive social interaction, all through the establishment of a firm concept of self that's developed and reinforced through friendship.
Many, many of the reactions here make me ill.
I hear ya. If I could, I’d go back to when my children were little, but only if I knew all I knew now and was the same person I am now. But I can’t, and that won’t happen.
I’m certain a great many can point fingers at my mistakes of the past, too. Most especially, me.
We live in the present though, and God would not have me relive yesterday and dwell there.
I can only ask forgiveness for my unintentionally caused hurts; one day, we’ll all be perfect. Until then...we just keep our eyes above and “stand fast.”
I think I have those writings of his saved. I plan to search the sections out after I respond to the posts to me.
Feel free to continue to castigate me however you wish, for whatever reasons.
Personally, I don’t think you’ve paid much attention to my posts that seem to . . . annoy you so.
The thing about his writings though...wasn’t it posted somewhere that some were borrowed?
Your assumptions are all wet.
1. My program had a Freudian semester or two of multiple courses.
2. A behaviorist semester or two of multiple courses and
3. An existential semester or two of multiple courses.
And, my term paper for the Freudian section was titled:
FRODO AND DR FRUD. It was a scathing satire of Freud. Actually also hilariously funny. Wish I still had a copy. The prof first wanted to flunk me. I told him it met all his criteria to please read it again. He did, agreed and gave me an A.
I never have cared much for Freud.
I was going, regarding Murray, Stricly by his own writings as well as my other experiences with families that seem to match his in a list of respects.
You are welcome to flush your off the wall assumptions about Freud and I.
I forgive you.
If they can prove that he did write those posts, and if he really did hear voices, whether they were his own or auditory hallucinations....he was terribly disturbed, and found no peace. Why no one was able to figure it out, and if they tried.....will we ever know the entire truth?
