Hebrews 12:
2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider Him...
Ephesians 5:
1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Phillipians 1:
27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.
Phillipians 4:
8 Finally, brothers,
whatever is true [that would be Christ],
whatever is noble [that would be Christ],
whatever is right [that would be Christ],
whatever is pure [that would be Christ],
whatever is lovely [that would be Christ],
whatever is admirable [that would be Christ]
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy [that would be Christ]
think about such things [that would be Christ].
[In other words, look to Christ in all things on how to think, believe, act, and live...not at other fallible human beings. Whether you look to people as role models, or for justification of your own poor behaviors and choices, or as scapegoats or excuses for your own shortcomings, those are not things we are to do; Christians are to look to Christ, first, last, and always.]
