I would guess he would stay at 3rd, he's always been kind of big for a SS. Being slightly older and bigger now and not playing it for 4 years he might not be quick enough anymore to go back to SS.
Add the Mets to the rumors of who might be going for him
Hope, hope, hoping.
And I should’ve added: and God bless him
with that crew of bosses.
Scott Boras exists to remind the world that there is a bigger a$$h*le in the world than any one of his clients.

“A-Rod a no-show
Alex Rodriguez obviously has plenty on his plate now that he’s opted out of his contract with the Yankees, but it would’ve been nice for him to attend last night’s ceremony for winning the Hank Aaron award.
Yes, this is partly a selfish lament; the media would’ve loved to ask A-Rod about his decision. But also, all honored players should pay their respects, in person, to the great Aaron.
A-Rod also won the Players Association’s Players Choice Outstanding Player award. I guess A-Rod’s fellow players don’t hate him that much, after all. There’s a five-part series on the Players Association’s awards, at http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/awards/pa.
Extra bases
The Rangers’ Tom Hicks isn’t the only opposing owner monitoring the Yankees this offseason. If the Yankees hire Joe Girardi as their manager, they’ll relieve the Marlins of roughly a $750,000 obligation to Girardi for 2008.”
Not only was it announced before the game was over, stupid FOX blathered on and on about ARod for a good 20 minutes (as I am sure you noticed) once the “breaking news” was announced.
Well the former owner is G.W. Bush and I don’t think he is that dumb. Course if you ask a whole lot of dems they will say otherwise
scott bora$$ is satan.
I haven’t the slightest idea WHY Joe Girardi would want to work for the zoo that is the N.Y. Yankees under the Steinbreners.
But hey, some folks are in to self abuse.
I know .. I know, but he’s tough.
A-Rod is a perfect fit for the Red Sox, IMHO.
also in Arizona ( even tho we are natl league)
if he signs with the sox, you’ll grow to love him. word is the angels are the front runners.
I grew up playing baseball.
It is a passion.
Los Angeles and had Dodger season tickets.
We shared them with two other families so every third home game we went. Third tier, 1st row, 1st base side.
We’d sell our world series tickets and that would pay for the following years tickets.
Kofax and Don Drysdale. Wills and Sutton.
Win a game 1 to 0 and allow two hits. Win on a hit and run or a squeeze play.
They don’t seem to choke up on two strikes any more. And just get wood on the ball.
That is the way Girardi plays the game.
Since the O’Mally family sold the Dodgers they aren’t the same, now just a corperate deal.
I root for good play and watch the Yankees but I would not work for them.
There are a few guys I’ve had my eye on that we drafted this year—Brock Bond at 2B, Bruce Edwards in the OF and Chad Rothford at 1B are three guys who I can only hope do well as they go up through the farm system.
Also, there are a few guys playing right now in the Fall League in Scottsdale that are more than likely going to end up on the major league roster—Nate Schierholz and Sergio Romo are a few guys that come to mind off the top of my head.
Baseball IS big business .. all pro
sports are anymore.
And the Yanks .. they’ve offered it to Joe

We’ll see if he’ll take $2M a year.
Mattingly’s gone

Happiness for me would be the Yank-offs moving to Vegas...
You are not too accurate there.
Girardi took one of the lower payrolls and won.
He took a team with a new owner and a team no one wants and made them winners.
But hey, spin it any way you care to.
The guy knows baseball.
Now whether or not the management of the Yanks allow him to do his job without too much interference is another matter.
No, the Padres swept the Indians. Having Trevor Hoffman as a closer, they couldn't lose.
