Is there a specific date FreeRepublicans celebrate FR's birth? Or is there a day it ought to be celebrated (besides every day)?

***I thought it was something like Classy Green Eyed Blonde, and we all thought it was a lady but it turned out to be a guy?

I believe you are correct. :-)

Joe, that's 'ClassyGreenEyedLady' to you bub...(and if I had the time I would do that rainbow thingy just to show off...LOL). And, like many, many, (did I add many) female FReepers I KNEW THE GREENEYED ONE WAS NOT A YOUNG WOMAN!!!
PS, I actually liked Bert, A+Bert, etc...he riled things up ;)

You are right...it was Blonde not Lady (not enough coffee here yet). And HE did that rainbow signature...and was on like about every thread, every topic, then ‘her’ photo appeared (with some nudging) on ‘her’ home page and female FReepers just kinda knew something was amiss...LOL. The good old days :)

...Now I have name issues (why did I put 'mom' in my tag?) would rename...but don't want to lose my 'gravitas.'
I asked Jim to change my freeper name about 2 years ago.
Kept the same sign up date.
The software even went back and changed the name in my older posts.
You could put your old name in your tagline.
Just a thought.

Ask Quidam.

It would seem that using Jim Robinson’s “member since” date would be the best way to go.

That’s even too lucid for the stuff Quidam was writing. Thanks for the reminder!

I joined Free Republic just after first grade.
That would’ve been about 1959.

I joined up the first time in 1997, but I lost my login info. I think my screen name was MarneC5 or Marne, something like that (it was my call sign in the Army at the time). I signed back up much later...

Odd co-inky dink, as the HAL 9000's tenth birthday would have been January 12 of this year.

We had 2800 baud modem local ISP dialup for our in-home business in about 1990 or so.
To: bannie
I was here back when you had to close your html's!We don't have to do that anymore?
To: InvisibleChurch; Kevmo
That was probably Quidam.
