Is there a specific date FreeRepublicans celebrate FR's birth? Or is there a day it ought to be celebrated (besides every day)?

The Whitewater Bulletin Board on Prodigy was a great place to tear into the Clintons plus much more. So involved, I can’t remember the year. Jim surely must have kept track.

No, no, no. FReepers would forget to /i off italics in their posts...so the rest of the thread would be italian until somebody closed the tag. Someone coined "close your tags, psycho!" but I won't say who.
If the exclamation mark wasn't part of it, I sincerely apologize. I honestly can't remember if the ending concluded with a period or exclamation mark.

I remember finding Free Republic from a link at the Drudge Report.Good for you. And I really mean that. I wish I had found FR back in 1996-99.
In reality, I didn't start showing interest in politics until I was 28 or so (2003).
Just a "kid" in '96, people I hung around convinced me to vote for Clinton.
I'll never forget.

Good grief! I just check my sign up date. Do you realize, Mr. JimRob that you have been putting up with me since Jan '98? I only gave you a couple of months of peace before I started chiming in--LOL!
Don't know what I would do without FR. I thank God for the blessing of this website and the many friends I have made here.

Hi sweet basil. Good to see you.
It was my pleasure getting lost with you when we came back from Fort Marcy Park.
Sure do hope to see you again some day. Your a beautiful lady.

Oh my goodness! I had forgotten about that!
Do you remember the freeper Budge? I haven't heard from him in a long time, but once the two of us somehow ended up getting left behind after some nightime Freep at the WH, and we walked home together in the dark.
He kept telling me we were perfectly safe, as the two hooks he had to use for hands were very sharp weapons!
Oh--I have so many wonderful memories of all the freeps I attended--especially those big rallies in DC.
We owe so much to da Man by the name of JimRob!

I’ve been here since spring 1997, although I didn’t register until Sept. 1998 (with the same account I still use).
