Romney Surges in S.C., Florida
In vastly underreported election news, recent polls are showing a Romney surge in both South Carolina and Florida. Of course no one knows this because no one has mentioned it. We would all think that Romney was flopping around like a fish out of water in the Southern states according to some recent posts that have been written about each state. Of course, logic would tell us that Romney should not be doing well in either of these states: He is Mormon, Slick, and a NorEaster. Nevertheless, he is polling well and will likely be right in the thick of the races come January. Here are the recent polls:
South Carolina
Oct 02, Insider Advantage Poll: Thompson 21%, Romney and Giuliani 16%
Sep 26-29, ARG Poll: Romney 26%, Giuliani 23%, Thompson 10%
Sep 26-27, Rasmussen: Thompson 24%, Giuliani 20%, Romney 15%
Additionally, the Romney campaign performed an internal poll, here are the results:
Romney Internal Poll: Thompson: 24%, Romney 20%, Giuliani 15%
So, in South Carolina Romney is right in the thick of the fight. It appears that the recent condemnation of Giuliani by Christian Right leaders is having a detrimental effect and that the advertising that Romney has been airing over the last month is causing some movement. However, it should be noted that the same article that reported the Romney internal poll caveats the results by saying that this was before the Bob Jones endorsement. A separat poll says that 27% of South Carolinans are more likely to support Romney due to this, but 32% are less likely. It will be interesting to see what effect the evangelical endorsements will have.
In Florida, Romney also continues to surge, and Florida is arguably more important a victory for any of the candidates. Here are the recent polls:
Oct 1-8, Quinnipiac: Giuliani: 27%, Thompson 19%, Romney 17%
Oct. 2, Insider Advantage: Giuliani 29%, Thompson 19%, Romney 16%
Granted, these polls are nothing to get thrilled over as Giuliani has a sizeable lead. However, all previous polling had Romney hovering between 7% and 10% in Florida. So a 6-7 point jump in a month is significant and he is really the only one gaining steam in these states, whereas Giuliani and Thompson are plateauing.
It should also be mentioned that all the hubub about Huckabee or Thompson surging against Romney in Iowa should be somewhat muted by the most recent Iowa poll that gave Romney an impressive 14 point lead:
Oct 10-14, Strategic Vision Poll: Romney-27, Giuliani-13, Huckabee-12, Thompson-10.
I wonder if this will get the coverage that the poll placing Huckabee within 6 points will get. I doubt it.
All in all, while Romney has stalled in some places, so have all the candidates. The race is a real crap shoot, there is far from a difinitive front runner. However, it still looks to be a Giuliani-Romney finale.

BTW just WHAT is a "fun operation"? Uh... having a detached retina re-attached with Laser surgery?
It would have to be, for I had BOTH retinas detached in 3 places each, stuck back on with the older technology of FREEZING them!
Yes, I was awake and drugged but the scene was like something out of the film Marathon Man, if the 'doctor' had NOT used dental equipment!
My first kidney stone was incredible, but those retinas were, shall we say, unique!

I just think the incessent posters whove made their anti-mormon points umpteen times already and seem to be proud of expressing their narrow-minded zealotry should get a life.
17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself
adelivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I
bsaw two
cPersonages, whose brightness and
dglory defy all description,
estanding above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other
This is My fBeloved gSon. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to
ainquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that
all were wrong)and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them,
for they were all awrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that
all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those
bprofessors were all
ccorrupt; that: they
ddraw near to me with their lips, but their
ehearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the
fcommandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the
gpower thereof.
20
He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself
alying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace,
bmother inquired what the matter was. I replied, Never mind, all is wellI am well enough off. I then said to my mother,
I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.
Yeah!
I just HATE it when they do that!!

Its fascinating. I suspect that if all peoples had done their geneology, we would find us to all be quite related.I've done NO checking, but I read something... somewhere...
Acts 17:26
From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.

Arriving in Copenhagen on December 22. Christmas eve at the Lutheran Cathedral will be fabulous followed by fine dining in the City. I have heard that the Mormon turnover rate there is extremely high, so I might be able to find a drinking buddy or two.
Have been receiving the newspaper now for a month to try to brush up on the language. Will be doing a lecture at one of the museums; don't know which one yet.
Come with us!

Hmmmm. I too have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true. that’s why I’m Catholic. Is this posting part of your missionary work? Careful you dont accidently convert someone.
Ans this part “they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.” ... wow, just wow ...

“In June, the General Assembly passed an action calling on Presbyterians to live a carbon-neutral life by reducing our use of fossil fuel energy and purchasing offsets to make up for the amount we still contribute to carbon emissions, the main cause of global warming.”

I think you should send your idea to the Mitt campaign.
A series of these prayer events would be the precursor to a national prayer breakfast led by Gov. Romney via satellite simulcast.
Be sure and invite President Bush to this breakfast.
I would like to organize a prayer Breakfast on behalf of Mitt and invite local leaders of faith, it should be ecumenical, and, if possible, include Hindus and Islamists, if they should be led by a prompting of their inner voice to come.
I see you include Hindus and Islamists..where are the Jews? The Community of Christ? The Bhuddists? The Unitarians?
Where are the rest of the presidential candidates in this ecumenical group? Are you inviting the Reverends Jackson and Sharpton?
And as amazing as this is, it is more amazing that our country is in such a fragmented and selfish place that such a man as Mitt is not readily embraced.
While I'm sure you believe your intent is pure, this post is amazingly star-struck IMO, to the point of zealotry. One would have to ask, "If Romney were President and put out a call to arms to all mormon priesthood holders to mass at the Capitol in Washington, would YOU question for a moment the intent of the command?"

I posted that I would not exchange with Delphi User or any of his incarnations, so I guess its time to stop exchanging with you too.
Thank you so much. Please, please be a gentleman & hold to that. I think it would be the best for both of us. I wish you well. The apologists would be ecstatic if ALL of us quit posting to them...that has been the goal for months.

Rudy McRomney all have a coterie of conservatives who WILL NOT VOTE FOR THEM. Fred is the only one who does not split the Republican party ideologically. So I don’t understand how starting in the hole with your base is going to win the election.

The Jews every year set a place at the table for the coming of Elijah, which Elijah did come he appeared April 3, 1836 at the Kirtland Temple. ... http://scriptures.lds.org/en/dc/110/13 (Grin) Riiiiiight ... one of your best drag and paste jobs exposing the foolishness of Mormonism and the demonic influences therein. When the Jews came to BYU to discuss geneologies, did your handlers expose this bit of foolery to them then? I'm sure that would have gone over very well. (chuckle, chuckle ... hey, don't get mad at me for grinning and chuckling, some of your idol(s) do it on FR posts!)

That is exactly what they want. They don’t want to allow us to question Mormonism, they don’t want us to talk about it. They want to section it apart from Romney’s life and the way he lives, but by their own example Mormonism is a very BIG, overwhelming part of their own lives, their own view point. Mormonism governs their every move and their every opinion - and dissension is not allowed.
We are supposed to ignore this same trait of Mormonism when it applies to a man in consideration for POTUS? I don’t think so!

Because of your blindness of your mind there are and have been many leaders in the Church that are of the descendants of the house of Judah as well as Joseph which are all children of Abraham!
May I remind you also the first Christians were Jews.

Since the ‘translator’, Smith, had only the KJV of the Bible (written in King James English), and Smith had no other texts (in Greek, Aramaic, or Hebrew), and since his additions to the King James Bible were in King James English, how is it that Mormonism claims he was ‘translating’ the Bible afresh! Bwahahahaha, perhaps that’s why the LDS hive doesn’t use the Smith ‘Translation’ of the King James Bible for their main Bible text!

You like to label it as Mormonism but you know this and yet lie that Mormon to the LDS is a prophet of God and the covneants and commandments the LDS keep are of Jesus Christ. Mormon was only one of many messingers of God.
