Among all the Republican candidates for president, the chronically striving Romney might be the smartest guy in the room. Armed with a law degree and a master's of business administration from Harvard, he's the well-prepped answer man on health care and immigration, and quick-draw responder to the urgent events of the media moment. Staples would be one of the great American business success stories. It's an $18 billion company with 1,700 stores. Christensen, now a professor at Harvard Business School, describes Romney as "a great helicopter pilot. He can go down to the level of detail to see what a person needs and can go up to see the big picture and then fly away when he has the right people in place," Christensen said.
Romney's personal wealth, now estimated at up to $250 million, soared on the wings of his success.

Actually, the smartest, most authentic, most honest guy with a real conservative track record that has never changed and everyone can check, is Duncan Hunter!
I agree that Romney is the most successful business man on the stage tonight. But always remember one thing........he didn’t get there by himself. Don’t forget the people working around him. Without them, he would be nothing. So what this says, basically, don’t rely totally on what he has done and think he did it all by himself.
I don’t care how smart Romney is. I still refuse to vote for a gun grabber.
With all his Education and private sector experience - and success, what does he have to say about 2A? Even more important what actions did he take regarding 2A while in power?

As a business owner I would like to know that the guy in charge understands what my world is about. I’m not sold on Mitt overall but if he’s running the country at least I know that someone who understands business is in charge.
Look at some of GWB’s appointments and tell me he is hugely successful as a CEO. Good CEOs surround themselves with good people. Reagan had quite a few around him but since they did the work then he was nothing as POTUS?

If you watch the debate today, guarateed, Romney will be the only one with specifics. I think private sector experience is very important.
A CEO is measured by the success of the people under him/her.
I disagree. It is one item but others matter just as much.

Carter was a nuclear physisist with no common sense. Clinton was a policy wonk and an “unusually good liar”.
Romney is a successful businessman. Big difference.

Is that how they get hired? When they take over a new company does he/her take all the employees with them? What about someone who starts a company from scratch? Sorry your logic escapes me.
I have said this along when people want to start the “he doesn’t have experience diatribe” when talking about Hunter or FDT. A great leader’s biggest asset/deficit is the people he brings with him.
