Idaho Senator Larry Craig obviously did a very bad thing in a men's restroom at the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport in June. Whatever took place between Senator Craig and an undercover police officer was bad enough that Senator Craig tried to hide it from everyone around him, public and private. It was bad enough that he pled guilty, hoping it would stay buried forever. There are many things about this affair that have made him politically radioactive, and fatally so. The press statement he gave to the media earlier Tuesday afternoon did not help make his predicament any less dire. In fact, it made it worse.
Senator Craig said very strongly that he did not do anything wrong, that he is not gay, and that he is not ruling out running for re-election next November. Here's what else Senator Craig has not done.
He has not estimated highly enough that his 'I shoulda hired a lawyer instead of trying to solve this myself' excuse doesn't fly with the American people.

Another selfish, political SOB who is above himself... and has totally forgotten who put him in office and why he is there. I am sick of them.
Even if what he now says is true, he should still resign for being that stupid. Save the nation a lot of embarrassment and grief.
Next time I get in trouble with the police I’ll just flash my business card and say “What do you think about that?”
Followed by “Can you loosen the cuffs a bit?”
The best part of his statement is the assertion that he has retained counsel now and he has asked his counsel to examine where things go from here. Sen. Craig, save your money, it goes nowhere. You plead guilty. Game over. Now resign.
Must be a gay thing.
You left out Barney Frank and Gerry Studds
How about the Big Kahuna himself, Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy? Left a young woman to suffocate in a submerged car so he could save his own political fat a**. Not only should he have resigned, he should've spent the next 25 years in jail for second-degree murder.
It's a good thing the current Republican Presidential front-runner is a man of unquestional moral character. /s
Fascinating, isn't it?
Now, the part that REALLY INTRIGUES me is... Why is the MEDIA (MSM or otherwise) so slow in bringing this to our attention? I read yesterday somewhere, that 'the media' almost missed this one altogether, had not been or Roll Call, or something to that effect.
Question: What is the logic of this? If the MSM is LEFTY as we all seem to agree, why are the protecting a REPUBLICAN pervert?... Or could it be, that the media is just a bunch of inept idiots?... Could be this the answer?
No kidding. After reviewing this site: http://www.ytedk.com/ there’s no doubt about your conclusions.
He needs to resign ASAP and take in a good movie. "Broke Back Mountain" is one he might enjoy..(just a guess)..

The arrogance of the elected members of the GOP is stunning.
This guy has been doing this crap since 1967 apparently.
Rumors about him,
In 1982,Craig appeared on NBC News to deny rumors about cocaine use and sex with male teenage congressional pages (the next year, the 1983 Congressional page sex scandal broke, but Craig was not implicated).
In October 2006, gay activist blogger Mike Rogers, who has earned a controversial reputation for outing political conservatives, alleged on his blog that Craig was gay. Craig called the claim “completely ridiculous.”
The little toe tapper should dance out of the picture.
Larry Craig.............Putting the “HO” in IdaHO.
“Now, the part that REALLY INTRIGUES me is... Why is the MEDIA (MSM or otherwise) so slow in bringing this to our attention?”
Simple. They were waiting to maximize the story for political effect. They did the same thing with Foley. They knew about it for months but waited until the primaries were close for maximum damage. My guess, they couldn’t sit on it any further as the the report was leaked out. They are probably disappointed that it came out in August, typically a slow news month. Most likely, they were hoping they could sit on it until after Labor Day.
The pushback needs to be that we become more aggressive in going after corrupt Democrats, not that we tolerate corrupt Republicans.
Our values voters can’t be expected to vote for a guy who solicits sex from men in a public restroom, nor for a party that brushes such behavior under the rug.
This is a tough area for Republicans. We face a hostile press corps that will highlight every GOP scandal while downplaying Democrat scandals, even to the point of making Democrats objects of sympathy for getting caught (McGreevey & Frank), But the only alternative is for our guys to aggressively challenge the press and the Democrats on this. Circling the wagons and defending Craig just won’t work. It works for the Democrats because their constituents don’t care if one of their leaders drove drunk off a bridge and left a girl to die, or operated a homosexual prostitution service, or had sex with a teen congressional page. But we have a higher class of constituents.
If Craig stays and runs for re-election, he will lose. The GOP will stay home, a Democrat will pick up this seat, and we also run the risk of losing Idaho's electoral votes for President.
We don't need this.
Agreed. Push the pervert out of the party. One less arogant SOB. The state is staunchly Republican and we shouldn’t have trouble retaining it...unless he stays.
