If Craig resigns now, there will be another Republican appointed to fill his remaining term. This person will not be shackled by the burden of this scandal as he goes into the election in 2008 and we are more likely to retain his seat as a result.

If Craig stays and runs for re-election, he will lose. The GOP will stay home, a Democrat will pick up this seat, and we also run the risk of losing Idaho's electoral votes for President.

We don't need this.

Those are very good points and I understand. I am not sure that Craig will lose though. Either way, I just sick of the hypocrisy in the liberal MSM.
