“Do not post to me”

We've received many requests from freepers requesting that other freepers not post to them. There are several problems with this.
1. It's impossible for us to enforce.
2. We don't have the time to enforce these requests.
3. We don't have the software to keep track of these requests.
4. Thick skin helps.
5. Ignore the poster, if you don't reply, they won't reply.
Free Republic does not need a bozo filter, bozo filters are for wimps.
Final note: Trolls, troublemakers, disruptors, forum pests, malcontents, RINOs, liberals, stalkers, et al, would continue posting to (harassing) someone after being asked to stop. Conservative FReepers would not.

Thank you, Sion. In a culture that revels in plastic, dumbed down humor and nearly sullen self-righteousness, you understand. Agree with every point but the last. Understand... me? Looks like a fun ride, though! *\;-)
"Dumbed down humor"? Jeez, it's been DECADES since I decided that it wasn't worth watching any teevee program so stupid it had to tell its viewership when to laugh. A total insult, even before the laugh tracks sounded off on such stupid things I felt like I was in the midst of idiots. (Though a majority of those of significantly below-normal intelligence I've known were quite a bit brighter than those laugh tracks.)

Only applies if you use fake butter.
:looks stern: You are not suggesting that I would put fake butter on my popcorn are you?

Good! Ill bring the soda. (Pop for the rest of you! And coke for the people in the south.) Don't go in for coke (or even the taste of today's Coke), but... Vernor's for us midwesterners?

Can we have popcorn during the show?
Yes, but no trans-fatty acids, OK? "The Element" isn't about that.

Walnut provides its own stain. Tell me about it. About the only thing that will take it off is gas and only sometimes.
If you got deep stains you just have to wait for the skin to sluff off.

Usenet was the domain of a small number of intellectuals. those who had access.
Usenet participant beginning 12/1985. (ARPANET access beginning 1984.) Active participant of talk.politics.misc, rec.org.sca and other groups for indeterminate number of years.
Still have a terrific Atholl Brose recipe used many times since Usenet acquisition.

My friend, I was trying to be a bit--shall we say?--diplomatic with the younger and more media-entranced folks. Believe me, I understand the history of America's "dumbening," as you clearly do.
Perhaps we should also have a public viewing of Mike Judge's "Idiocracy?"

Hey now, don't be a coconut oil extremist, OK? Don't ideologue cooking oils, m'mkay? They're gouging you. You know that, right? The cooking oil companies are gouging you left and right.
