This morning only a couple of minutes before 5am, I was surfing around when I came upon Fox News. Bill O'Reilly was closing out his show with him reading off a few viewers emails and him giving a small response to each one. One of them defended FreeRepublic, saying that doing a search, Daily Kos had thousands of certain cuss words, and FR had none. O'Reilly's response to that was: "FreeRepublic Needs A Monitor. It Has None." (And then he moved on to another email)
"..Alan Novak, Wichita, KS: "Comparing the Free Republic to the Daily Kos, I searched the F-word. Daily Kos, almost seven thousand mentions. Free Republic, none.""
Am I missing something?
After Bill’s slander is FreeRepublic now a hate site? Should I stop Freeping from work?
The PC managers don’t know anything about anything but if they get the impression I am on a hate site, things will not go well for me.
No intent to high-jack, but this is a legitimate and serious concern to me.
Earlier in the program (I saw the same rerun) he made a comment to the effect that political ‘hate’ speech posed a direct threat to politicians and (gasp) journalists, and that there should be laws protecting them....
My (mental) comment was “Bill, there’s no immediate direct threat to you, personally... We can wait until we gather all of you up..”
Do you imagine such a status would hinge on a slander by Bill O'Reilly?
Bill “O” delivers a smack from the back of his hand to Free Republic.
Ouch. THAT’S gonna leave a mark.
There is a saying, Don’t get mad, get even.
Except in feuds like this, there is never a point where things are “even”.
I don’t think he ever understood what Kristinn was trying to explain about the moderator situation here. If he had, he wouldn’t have gotten all hung up on whether the moderators were paid or volunteers. Unfortunately, he didn’t give Kristinn a chance to explain.
Gee, I see comments pulled by moderators all the time. Obviously, he doesn’t spend enough time on this site. (Imagine that)
“The PC managers dont know anything about anything but if they get the impression I am on a hate site, things will not go well for me.

Does your IT department block ‘inappropriate’ sites like Playboy? If so, just claim that you thought all such sites were blocked, and anything else was fair game.
If they persist, strengthen your resolve and stand up for your principles...or stop surfing at work. ;-)
And O’Reilly needs to take his meds.
I know FR is Great and in no way similar to KOS, however, my bosses do not know up from down.
They are typical scared uninformed liberals.
I just don’t want to get in any trouble.
Unlike the Free Republic Bill O’Reilly cannot be debated on his show(s) and monitors what is said there.
Let me translate Bill into English:
“WAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! They’re making fun of meeeeee...”
No, but the poster has a point. I noticed a few years ago that our former firewall considered FR a banned site. Then I noticed a pattern of conservative sites blocked and things like DU, which definitely breaks several of our regs concerning usage, were not. Seems the manufacturer of the firewall was a lefty org. Obviously some manager high up likes sites like this as they all became accessible one morning.
Basically, Michael Savage was correct about Bill. He is not that bright or intellectual. Of course Free Republic needs a monitor to control it’s postings; Bill would love that job. Then he could remove news or information he does not like; just as would the Marxist Democrats with their censorship initiative. Then Free Republic and PBS would have something in common, socialist drivel with low audience ratings.
LOL... I can never quite figure out where O’Reilly is coming from.
O’Reilly for some reason, is still receiving high ratings. I believe he goes over the top on both sides too many times for his show to be objective. His definition of Objectivity is his way or the highway.
