"Medications can cause seizures but usually in people over 65: like Ativan."

That's interesting. I've always known Ativan to be prescribed for preventing seizures.

Ativan is contraindicated for patients over 65, Mr. KoRn.

Ativan is an antique medicine and Part D doesn’t cover it.

Especially the liberal brain. I can’t drive for 6 months following one here in Kentucky, nor would I want to because if I was to have one while driving during that six months and God forbid kill someone my family and our finances would be ruined via lawsuits.

Of course, the manslaughter charge wouldn’t help, either.

Just heard it was a seizure. Had one lad month and am now on 200mg Tegratol (was Dilantin) and yeah, I get no warning. Seems to happen when I don’t get sleep. Yeah, I am undergoing tests too, so my best to the Chief Justice. Been having them off and on since 1996. Here’s hoping he gets his meds and treatment regimen. A lot of seizure disorders are very treatable and are not life threatening as long as you’re under a doctor’s care.

Ummm...

Associated Press

Aquafina Source Is Same as for Tap

NEW YORK -

So you thought that water in your Aquafina bottle came from some far-away spring bubbling deep in a glen? Try the same place as the water in your tap.

PepsiCo Inc. (nyse: PEP - news - people ) is the latest company to offer some clarity about the source of its top-selling bottled water as it announced on Friday it would change the label on Aquafina water bottles to spell out that the drink comes from the same source as tap water.

A group called Corporate Accountability International has been pressuring bottled water sellers to curb what it calls misleading marketing practices. The group has criticized PepsiCo over its blue Aquafina label with a mountain logo as perpetuating the misconception that the water comes from spring sources.

Aquafina is the single biggest bottled water brand, and its bottles are now labeled "P.W.S." The new labels will spell out "public water source."

"If this helps clarify the fact that the water originates from public sources, then it's a reasonable thing to do," PepsiCo spokeswoman Michelle Naughton said Friday. Aquafina water is taken from public sources then purified in a seven-step process.

http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2007/07/29/ap3963633.html

I remember a couple of years ago when some fancy spring water from France was tested and found to have benzene, the organic chemical that is biggest cause of cancer and is likely from a gasoline station leak. The Federal government makes local water utilities spend big, big bucks each quarter to test for everything under the sun, things you have never heard of, in parts per billion but might, if you're that one in a millionth person, get some cancer after drinking it and nothing else for 70 years.

You are just as well off to drink tap water AFTER you put a simple filter on it to remove lead (from lead solder previously used to solder copper pipes) and to remove chlorine put in the water to kill bacteria.

Personally, I like the calcium-rich hard water here in the southwest for drinking, though it is hell on plumbing. Don't drink RO water without an additional source of minerals (vitamins) as you need the natural minerals in water.

ravingnutter, DU is on place for amateurs...that is why we let PJ-Comix go over there for us and summarize it!

That way we don’t need shots, latex barriers and flea dustings.

Prayers up. I thought earlier it was just a minor fall, but it is now more serious. May God heal Cheif Justice Roberts very soon.

My second thought exactly. (first was prayers for the CJOTUS)

"...Garner said taking medication, drinking alcohol or certain periods of stress can all bring on seizures."

My guess is that what brought it on was reading what Chuckie Schumer said in his address to the "Constitution Society" (or whatever nutrball group he was talking at)!

The term “idiopathic” is medical-speak for “we don’t have the foggiest idea what the heck that was.”

Which would lead one to wonder how they know it was “benign.”

Thankfully, it looks like he has a good prognosis - such a good man.

I am FURIOUS with my state senator, Upchuck Schumer, for doing everything in his power from letting President Bush’s judicial nominees go to the floor for an up or down vote.

New York State voters are among the worst - Hillary Clinton, Upchuck Schumer, Gov. Eliot Spitzer. NYS voters couldn’t elect worse candidates if they tried. (looks like I’m on a rant).

I had two seizures (ideopathic) in a 9-month span 24 years ago. The second was while swimming in a river. If my best friend hadn’t seen me go under I wouldn’t be making this post right now. Both EEGs were clear as a bell, but I ended up taking Dilantin for seven years as a precuation. I haven’t had another seizure since, even after going off the Dilantin.
