Monday, July 30, 2007

WASHINGTON — Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts suffered what is being described by doctors as a "benign idiopathic seizure" after falling Monday at his summer home in Maine.

He is staying in Penobscot Bay Medical Center overnight for observation, court officials told FOX News.

My first thought too!

Hope Justice Roberts will be just fine.

Watch Schumer hold a press conference ...

No thanks, I'd rather not. What's the most dangerous place in Washington, D. C.? Between Schmucky and a TV camera.

That’s what I was thinking.....The Chief Justice’s age, or lack thereof, is in his favor. An 82 year old taking a fall is usually more serious than a 52 year old taking a spill. I’m sure the libs on Daily Kos and moveon.org are all abuzz about this incident!

“I hope he didn’t hit his head and wake up a liberal, like what happened to Gilligan on the coconut episode.”

No, that was Maynard G. Crebs and he woke up as Gilligan./sarc.

If you count the nearby suburbs, Ft. Marcy Park would be the winner.

If Vince Foster had had a gun, he’d be alive today.

There was a special report on a Maine television station about this incident a few minutes ago.

Pete Williams, the former Pentagon spokesman, was in the Maine TV station’s studio along with a local anchorman at the NBC affiliate.

Chief Justice Roberts fell at his summer home in Port Clyde, Maine, a home the Chief Justice purchased a year ago. He was taken to a local hospital....no word on his condition, at least not from these local guys.

Yes, I heard the same and grateful too. I wonder why there are no details on how/why this happened? Of course, Fox News has moved on to more ‘pressing’ matters....yet another car chase.

Surprisingly, the DUmmies are pretty tame on this one, from the website:

He tripped over an unread copy of the Constitution

God has struck him down?

He's Conscious? That's strange....he wasn't before...

Not a real long thread, because they are all too busy drooling about the announcement by a group the Dems that they are going to try to impeach Gonzales on another thread. Ugh...time to go take a shower.

Further details.....A spokesman for the Chief Justice says he’s doing fine.

Justice Robert’s home is on Hupper Island, just off Port Clyde, 50 miles up the coast from Portland, Maine.
The Chief Justice purchased the summer home last year from Steve Thomas, the former host of “This Old House.” There
are 20 - 30 summer homes on Hupper Island.

Regarding the special report I saw on a Bangor TV station....apparently, what I saw was a split screen.
Pete Williams was talking to the Maine TV anchor from an NBC studio in either New York or Washington.

“Justice Roberts had a fall, taken to hospital.”

Somebody better check on the whereabouts of Justice Ginsburg at the time of the “fall.”
