Protester removed from Fred Thompson event
CNN Political Ticker ^ | 07/25/07 | Steve Brusk

HOUSTON, Texas (CNN) – A woman screaming “you’re not a real conservative, sir” was removed by police from a welcoming reception for likely GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson Wednesday morning. A second protester was also taken from the room.

Houston police officers escorted the woman — as well as a man — from the hangar at Hobby Airport, where Thompson was shaking hands with a crowd of supporters. They were not arrested.

The woman questioned Thompson as he talked to reporters. She asked him why he was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and noted that the organization supported the North American Union with Canada and Mexico.

Note this is an excerpt.

So the CFR just basically sits around and debates, with nothing ever changing, with no power, or influence to change anything in regards to law, politics, government policies etc?

They occasionally have some influence -Let’s say they are a provider of advice, you can either take that advice, or not take it, it’s up to you.

So it's up to people like me to decide if they have government policy influence or should be an advisor on government policy, even if I'm not a member?

Looks like a deliberate ambush by a libertarian wacko. It also looks like she had at least one accomplice there. Did she have forged press credentials? She apparently was allowed access to Thompson with other media people and used that privilege to attack Thompson for his association with CFR, an organization with a large membership of most DC movers and shakers. Guilt by association is a weak attack, but for the libertarian nuts, they will grasp at anything.

Which FReepers have we not heard from today?

Present and accounted for.

I'm nowhere near my hometown of Houston at the moment. I'm sort of "out of town." About 7,000 miles out of town.

Now, who was it? One of the Houston FReepers needs to own up. ;-)

That isn’t at all what I said. I was making a comparison to advice. The CFR provides advice to the government people who ask (and sometimes pay) for it. The government people can either take that advice or leave it.

OK. I’ve repeated this enough times. If you’re not getting it by now, you don’t WANT to get it.

I would really like to see him address the question this woman rudely presented.

I saw him address it. He answered it. Further elaboration was really unnecessary.

I think Fred isn’t what he is trying to appear to be.

This is the same impression this incident left with me. It is true that most people don't realize that there really is a hidden agenda. Few have actually gone to CFR sites to read their philosophy.

Too much football team spirit.

You don't think it is nutty to suggest 9/11 was an inside job?

Go do some onjective and unbiased reading. The issue isn't as clear cut as you assume.

Note that in the comments section underneath this blog entry is a post from a woman claiming to be that “woman protester”. The web site she gives in the Houston 911Truth web site. In other words, another Truther for Ron Paul goes on the attack. Worst part is she’s really proud of herself for her, ahem, scathing rebuke of Fred.
Nuts come in every flavor, I guess.

Ahhh, she’s a Paulie Girl, huh?

No real surprise.

but they might have power or influence over law, and government policies, etc?

When influential people get together and discuss politics, they formulate opinion and purpose. Then they return to their corporate or government office, they execute policy based upon those opinions. The CFR is not accountable to the American people, but influences the judgement and purpose of our leaders.

The general drift of CFR studies is toward global governance.

You are exactly right on all counts, but those are points that many people refuse to understand.

Great quote, I love the 'don't fuss at me' line.. thanks for linking.. for those who didn't read:

"I didn't know they were up to that," said Thompson. "Now, don't fuss at me. You asked me a question. Let me answer it. There are several conservatives over the years who have been members of the Council on Foreign Relations. I try to learn as much as I can from all viewpoints. I have been a fellow of the American Enterprise Institute, one of the conservative thinks tanks in town, and enjoy having intellectual exercise and discussions whether I agree or not with anyone on any particular issue."

LMAO....maybe it’s because he’s gagging?

Perhaps you didn't notice the clear pattern: On every response this individual would choose a couple of words here or there, then omit sentences, and then choose another couple of words after the omitted sentences, and then treat the selected phrases as the entire thought to come up with a meaning that is either a very limited portion of or in some cases antithetical to the response that was given. This is intellectual dishonesty.

As for the rest of your post, no matter how many policy papers CFR committees might publish on the NAU, SPP, and any other related topics it has zero capacity to do anything about those policy papers. Until Congress decides to introduce legislation implementing (or for that matter even proposing) NAU, it is a complete non-starter. All the anti-NAU legislation introduced in state legislatures and the US Congress is rather pointless until somebody in the government actually attempts to create an NAU.

“Until Congress decides to introduce legislation implementing (or for that matter even proposing) NAU, it is a complete non-starter.”

For a non-starter, it sure has made many advances.

One need only read this:

Building a North American Community
http://canada.usembassy.gov/content/can_usa/northamericancommunity_TF_final.pdf

and compare it to this:

Timeline of the Progress Toward a North American Union
http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=VIV20061220&articleId=4216

to see that creation of a North American Union is being done in incremental steps. Thankfully, Legislators ARE aware of what the Bipartisan, OBLers/CFRers are attempting to do and are introducing legislation to stop it. The latest:
