They occasionally have some influence -Lets say they are a provider of advice, you can either take that advice, or not take it, its up to you.
So it's up to people like me to decide if they have government policy influence or should be an advisor on government policy, even if I'm not a member?
That isn’t at all what I said. I was making a comparison to advice. The CFR provides advice to the government people who ask (and sometimes pay) for it. The government people can either take that advice or leave it.
