What's With Laura Ingraham?
July 13. 2007 | Polish Proud

What's with Laura Ingraham? This morning Peggy Noonan wrote an op ed which included the following criticism of President Bush:

"Every major domestic initiative of his second term has been ill thought through and ended in failure. His Iraq leadership has failed. His standing is lower than any previous president's since polling began.",

Laura loved Noonan's op ed. Go gal, kick him when he's down.

Ingraham is taking herself too seriously. Yesterday she was aghast over security chief Chertoff's "gut feeling." I don't know why. I would appreciate any source regarding security even Chertoff's gut. She also found Chertoff less than handsome. What a cheap shot.

Ingraham lost me when she went over to the dark side on the Foley scandal. She thought Hastert should have resigned for not protecting male pages from gay congressmen.

Bill Kristol, yesterday on her show, suggested that now is the time that talk show hosts should support the president. His comment went right over her head.

Sorry, but isn’t that their problem?

Okay, good to know where you stand.

Obviously I mean prosperity.

But you knew that, right?

Now, I support the war, I applaud the tax cut, and (so far) I’m thankful for his appointments to the Supreme Court. Even with these achievements, Bush should thank Jimmy Carter for keeping him from being America’s worst president

Let's see, great on defense, great on the economy and great appointments to the USSC --terrible president--gosh, you're hard to please.

Her campaign against the Pres is too obvious, ie, yesterday she was talking about....get this.....KATRINA. And had a guest on to talk about the devastation.

LOL, she complains about the non-support, while agitating more non-support.

Good grief.

Ingraham is always faulting the President for not selling the war, but if you don’t have the press on your side, no matter what you say, it wont get out, Dah.

Lets see...Chertoff has gut feeling that somehow more terrorists are going to come into our country and attack us again....how would they get in?....OUR BORDERS ARE WIDE OPEN THE LAWS ARE ALREADY THERE AND THE ADMINISTRATION CALLS ANYONE WHO WANTS THE FEDS TO DO THEIR JOB A RACIST!...so Laura Ingraham should just bite her tongue and say the President is doing a great job! BUSH IS A GLOBALIST! He couldn’t care less about US Sovereignty! IF you are fighting a war and trying to stop attacks on your soil the FIRST thing you do is SEAL THE BORDER! National Security is directly related to this. Didn’t you ever wonder why all the steps that were taken ended up being imposed on people travelling within THIS country rather than focusing on people crossing the BORDER?!? She is conservative, BUSH is NOT.

Politics aside, Noonan is a damned good writer. One of my majors was English.

Bush had his reasons for Immigration reform

He does?
I've never seen it articulated.

"It's what's best for America" is not a rational statement. it sounds more like a -- bumper sticker.

and the current administration who have been calling people like her racist

False.

The current administration did not call her or anyone racist. This is a lie that is circulating widely. You've bought into it.

That’s OK. I love her.
I would love to have a long and lazy lunch and share a lovely bottle of Cabernet with her and just BS about the things we love from our own points of view, in our own time frames. What we saw, what we felt, what we loved, what we disliked.
If Walter Williams or Thomas Sowell, Bibi Netanyahu or Don Rumsfeld dropped by for desert, that would be even better. Nobody loves everybody.

Laura is simply on to Bush and his lousy administration. The rest of you should catch up. The Bush administration views the vast majority of Freepers, talk radio listeners, and conservatives in general as being a bunch of semi-retarded idiots. Bush has absolutely no respect for conservatism or conservatives.

The fact is, Bush is the one that is semi-retarded. He is incompetent and unable to sell his vision - on ANYTHING. Unconvincing, insincere, disrespectful, elitist, smug, unprincipled, etc.

So, a quick recap: CONSERVATIVES - BUSH DOES NOT LIKE YOU, HE DOESN'T AGREE WITH YOU, HE THINKS YOU ARE STUPID. DEAL WITH IT.

With all the locks known to man on our borders how hard do you think it is to get phony documentation? Terrorists are NOT going to be stopped by an immigration check on the border. Have you been to an airport lately? The security lines are endless and the people checking papers wouldn’t know a fraudulent document if it had FRAUD stamped on it!

She’s really ticked about the immigration issue and how the White House has characterized the critics. She’s gotten pretty negative about the administration across the board now.

I’m sure they are Killing a lot of terrorists. The problem is there’s always a terrorist to replace the one we just killed. Its just like Vietnam, the fighting will continue as long as AQ and the Iraqi insurgents want it to continue. We cannot “win” in Iraq because we cannot impose our will on AQ or stop the terrorism. As for the Iraqi’s stepping up, you mean there’s “light at the end of the tunnel”. Damn, I’ve heard that before from LBJ and Nixon.

I completely agree with your sense of the situation over there.

I admit that I reluctantly supported the war, believing that the president and his team not only knew about the WMDs but had thought it all through to a successful end-game. My bad.

I should have trusted my instinct that it would devolve into an insurgency which no modern nation can win against third-world fanatics. Not us in Viet Nam or the Russians in Afghanistan or, especially, the French in Algeria.

That being said, I think it will be a horrendous disaster for us to simply face defeat and come home. But public support is in freefall and we will be coming home and soon. Our departure from Viet Nam cost a lot of Asian lives but was relatively painless (except psychologically) for us. This defeat will not be painless for us. It probably portends the arrival of as Islamic superstate with a deathgrip on ME oil supplies and nuclear weapons, or else, a major ME war with Israel using nukes to attempt to thwart the previous scenario and its own annihilation.

I have no good ideas. Our president has far too little credibility to lead us in such difficult times.

Noonan is a flake but right on this account. So is Laura. The President has let us all down. I was a great supporter of his through two elections but IF he could run again , I would not vote for him. Yes, he is a good man (human being)but his judgment it in the toilet on domestic issues.(except cutting taxes, that was a great thing)
