I was listening to the Lars Larson show today and he was taking calls regarding a controversial artwork that is hanging at the Portland Oregon International Airport.
The question is if such art should be hanging in a public place such as an airport...
Thanks for the ping.
it’s so
insipid
that it
speaks loudly
against itself.
Wonder what the airport that burns tons and tons of oil, paid for that garbage, with proceeds from burning tons of oil.
Pray for W and Our Troops
They call that art?
It really is sad to see something like that in an International Airport.
Hi Jake,
you are not alone.
I find this so called art sickening.
The term “art” is loaded with elitist meaning that is supposed to make us ignorant commonfolk bow down and grovel in its presence.
Yes, this is art, but so is a toddler’s finger painting. Is it good art, that most people would spend money on, and display in their home? Absolutely not.
It is also a political statement. But also a political statement that conveys a grossly sophomoric ignorance of American history.
It offers nothing of beauty, inspiration or education.
So no, it should not be hanging in a public place, perhaps in the Robbins-Sarandon home or in Jane Fonda’s powder room, but not in an airport.
Plagerism! Nothing new in 35 years from the left!!
