Here we are again my friends, hopefully for the last debate thread on this particular monstrous legislation. Proceedings are supposed to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST, with the cloture vote being taken at 10:30 a.m.
On a personal note, you've all been wonderful in your passion, vigilance, and commitment to the principles on which our country was founded. If I have to be in a foxhole, I want to be in it with you guys.

Brownback switched from aye to no after it was clear the bill was going down. I think.

Good luck. I finally had to leave a message (prior to this vote) on one of his office phones. For the last two nights I stayed up late (midnight) trying to sending faxes. Brownback’s fax was always busy...IMO, he took it off the hook.

Then he is lying, because the house pased a bill to build the fense with almost 1 billion dollars. They are holding the money hostage. This was spken about by Hunter back in June. Why is bush pushing for this thing? What’s in it for him?
