Tonight's cloture motion has just gone down to defeat. No where near the 60 yea votes needed to cut off debate.
Harry now pontificating on Senate floor.
Thank you and Thank you again for making me laugh with your tagline. Hilarious!
LOL,,,Dat Damn MSM Ya’ Know...;0)
Agreed. When time is of the essence as today, phone calls work best.

Good work to all the FReepers fighting to keep the Republic Free. Let’s all keep fighting the good fight....united we are a force to be reckoned with and together we help preserve the ideals of the founding patriots. Proud to labor with you fellow FReeps in the cause of freedom from tyranny by elitist tyrants and their selfish ambitions,
Congrats on being the force behind killing this shAMNESTY bill!
Corker and Alexander are my Senators too. I am awfully proud of them tonight. But getting back to Bush, my gut feeling is that he was the person we thought he was at first. I think something happened in his second term to change him drastically. Its almost like he has made a deal with the devil. I don’t understand his unwillingness to face the fact that Iran is behind the killing of our troops and deal with it. I just don’t understand him. Where’s his logic?
He doesn’t have to run for re-election?
Actually, he’s talked about amnesty, globalization and the AU from the beginning, but I was too dense to realize he truly meant it and would try to destroy this country and ram it down our throats. Looking back over the last eight years, I feel a fool for not paying attention to what he said instead of what I wanted to hear or believe he thought. I still believe he is doing what he feels to be in the best interest of the country. I cannot (for sanity’s sake) believe that everything he has done has been solely out of self-interest. If so, that would make me a bigger fool than I could bear.
In case any of you missed the votes relating to our state on the cloture vote:
Idaho: Craig (R-ID), Nay Crapo (R-ID), Nay
“Well, there were eight Dems who voted against closure. Very interesting.”
I found that interesting, too. I also noted that both Virginia Senators, who looked to be in favor of the Bill, both decided to vote against cloture and essentially defeat it.
Methinks their phone lines got scorched.
“I still believe that Dem radicals are in on this game and trying to destroy Republicans on this issue.”
They probably are. And ironically, the President has been assisting them.
As for “rallying” around a candidate; the days of large portions of the population blindly supporting any politician are probably over. Which is a good thing in my view.
Woohoo!
Warner and Webb voted No both times yesterday. They're my Senators, and I also was surprised.
I called Warner's office three times in two weeks because he's a confirmed RINO and I couldn't get a straight answer from his staff. "He's against amnesty but the bill is still being debated." In other words "Maybe, maybe not."
Actually I can't recall what Webb's office said, but it was more definitively in opposition and one call was good enough.

Another reason to defeat this and all other ‘shamnesty, bills: While donating blood yesterday in the Chicago suburbs, I happened to glance at the ‘acceptable I.D.’ list. Right next to ‘drivers license’ and ‘library card’ was MATRICULAR CARD! That’s right, they are letting illegals with a MATRICULAR CARD donate blood. People with who knows what type of medical history are adding their blood to the nations blood supply. There was just a young guy as a receptionist, but I will be writing the director of our blood bank to express my feelings.
Youre on the wrong site.
Why? Are we all supposed to march in lockstep?
