Terror Arrests in Fort Dix Plot FORT DIX, N.J.
May 8, 2007 - Six ethnic Albanians have been arrested in a plot to storm the Fort Dix installation in Burlington County.
Five of the suspects were arrested in Cherry Hill. They will be arraigned later today in federal court. Officials say it will happen in either in Camden or Newark.
Investigators say the suspects planned to use automatic weapons to storm the base and kill solders. The men were lured into a secret meeting to purchase AK-47s from an arms dealer, who was secretly cooperating with the FBI.
Officials say the suspects worked on a number of targets, including the Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, Fort Monmouth in Eatontown, and several Coast Guard stations.
Federal agents made the arrests when the suspects zeroed in on Fort Dix.
Officials say some of the suspects were caught on tape.

A tip helped authorities arrest six New Jersey men Monday night in connection to an apparent terror cell, according to NBC 10s sister station WNBC in New York.
Five of them were arrested in Cherry Hill, according to reports.
Investigators said the men planned to use AK-47s to storm Fort Dix and open fire on soldiers and civilians stationed at the New Jersey base, noting that other military locations were scouted by the terrorist cell.
Three of the unnamed suspects are brothers who are all believed to be Islamic radicals, according to sources. Some of the six arrested men were also born in Albania and the former Yugoslavia, but they have spent a significant amount of time in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, according to authorities.

NEW YORK -- Six men from New Jersey have been arrested in an alleged terror plot against soldiers at Fort Dix, according investigators.
Investigators said the men planned to use automatic weapons to enter Fort Dix and kill as many soldiers as they could at the N.J. base. Fort Dix was just one of several military and security locations allegedly scouted by this group, authorities said.
Investigators told Newschannel 4's Jonathan Dienst that these arrests are the result of a tip to the FBI and use of an informant to track the suspects. The terror suspects traveled over the last several months from New Jersey to the Poconos where they practiced firing automatic weapons, investigators said.
Investigators said the group discussed targeting numerous locations like Dover Air base, Fort Monmouth and several Coast Guard stations before deciding on Fort Dix as their intended target. Fort Dix is run in part by the Army and is a reserve-training center, but active units take part in training, including some which focuses on counter-terrorism....
Damn Straight!
These guys were prepared to forfeit their lives for the cause......well I'm prepared for that too, instead of a blaze of glory, extract everything of value from their demented heads make a tape of them pleading like babies for their lives and then HANG THEM!
Make an Example of them, give them a death takes any chance of martyrdom from them.
I guess the Poconos aren’t just for honeymoons anymore..
I wonder if this is isolated or part of a larger plan...
No, you silly twit. These guys will never come off the roles. They are voters for life! 8-)
They didn’t actually attack any base or harm anyone so it’s just speculation on the federal government’s part and since nobody actually committed any crime, we see no reason to detain these citizens. Nothing to see here, move along...
Allah...The Koran....and those in the Middle East with the wealth to continue the funding.
Military bases are soft targets. Didn't you know they're guarded by deserters, drug abusers and pot-bellied rent-a-cops? /sarc
Some areas in the Poconos have changed radically. Be very careful prior to renting or purchasing. Drugs, gang-bangers, and criminals who have chosen this wooded quiet area to call home.
>>>>so its just speculation on the federal governments part and since nobody actually committed any crime
Are you being sarcastic?
The Feds haven’t briefed NJ Officials yet. So how do you know no crimes have been committed?
Work you rRosaries, people. One of these times, the Feds won't catch b@stards like these in time.
Quran 8:12 I shall terrorize the infidels.
So wound their bodies and incapacitate them
because they oppose Allah and His Apostle.
Quran 8:57 If you gain mastery over them in battle,
inflict such a defeat as would terrorize them,
so that they would learn a lesson and be warned.
Milford, PA — beautiful little town, but the dregs of NYC and Port Jervis (or “Port Pervert,” as it was known when I lived in Milford) move in three or four days a week, and all darn summer.
Thats in the same county I camp at. They have a bombing range not to far from where I am & we see the planes during training flights all the time. Doesn’t make me feel real safe but at least they got them. Now torture the scummers and get the rest of them...
And death.
Have the Democrats protested the arrests yet?
Grind them uop and use them for chum next time you go shark fishing.
BTTT!

CAMDEN, N.J. Six people were arrested on Monday in connection with an alleged plot to murder soldiers at Fort Dix, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
Michael Drewniak, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Jersey, said the men are from the former Yugoslavia and were planning to “kill as many soldiers as possible.” Five of them lived in Cherry Hill, he said.
Drewniak said the six were scheduled to appear in federal court in Camden later Tuesday to face charges of conspiracy to kill U.S. servicemen.
During a secret meeting, the men allegedly attempted to purchase AK-47s from an arms dealer working with the FBI and were arrested in New Jersey after officials learned of the plans, a law enforcement source said.
The undercover investigation followed the men, three of whom are brothers, from New Jersey to the Poconos, where they allegedly practiced firing automatic weapons, media sources said.
Officials raided the homes of the men, described as Islamic radicals, and said there is video showing some of the alleged planning.
A law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity because documents in the case remain sealed, said the men were arrested as part of a joint federal and local investigation.
The officials said the attack was stopped in the planning stages.
A news conference was planned for 2:30 p.m. ET.
