Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #1 Reagan Library 05/03/07 - Official Discussion Thread
The debate will take place at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, and will air live on MSNBC from 8:00 to 9:30 pm (ET) and stream live on MSNBC.com and politico.com and will include audience questions gathered on politico.com.
They should have to base that on questioned asked and questioned answered. It isn't objective to consider a person that was asked 10 question a winner if several were only asked 5 questions. ;)
Duncan Hunter did great. IMO, as far as conservative substance AND debating skill, he was the winner.
That was a great line. And not protecting the border was the right answer on the second part of that question. Fiscal responsibility would've been another good answer.
Romney “looks” are very presidential, we should not underestimate this, it is very appealing for many people.
Given the time constraints, I’ll give him a pass. :)
He wasn’t my favorite, and this “debate” did not change that view.
That sounds like a communtation of the sentence, rather than parole. A commuted sentence could make a convict eligible for parole earlier.
Now the murderer is trying to get his sentence commuted by Huckabee. He hasnt denied it. The guy can bring it up now every year.
Huckabee is no longer the governor of Arkansas.
While I respectfully disagree with some of your information, I do hope the murderer of your brother-in-law dies in prison.
On his website it will give you more about ‘energy’ ideas, and he has said many times in interviews, yes, we should use anwar. I’m not finding the references I’m looking for right now, but there all on FR. Search duncanhunter.
Just been lurking this thread, but I think yours is a good summary. I thought Romney was very quick witted and charming. He really did well. Rudy only had to keep from screwing up to maintain his position as leader of the pack, and he probably did that. He didn't pick up any support, but he didn't lose any either. The rest of the lineup all needed to win more than they did.
Excellent assessment except I think Gilmore did better than you think he did.
I cant argue with any of that
They don't need much more than an army and some nukes and they can wreak lots of havoc including laundering nukes through Al Qaeda to attack Israel and us. So I wouldn't write them off.
I thought he came out on top ... assuredly.

This is the Candidates Forum for Romney, Huckabee, McCain, Giuliani and Brownbeck, it’s where you go to tell them what you thought of their answers:

No candidate ever agrees with every position I take. And, unlike you, I don’t expect them too.
They ALL were in favor!
Perhaps you mean that highly ineffective and morally troubled line of research known as "embryonic" stem cell research.
Most of the responders named "Adult" stem cell reseach -- and that is a far, far more promising and already practical and demonstratively effective line. I don't remember any mentioning umbilical cord cells -- Romney was pushing cell nuclei transplants -- I'm not familiar with that subject.
I certainly have. Fred sounds like Fred. Nice try though.
